The third night I completely forgot I had poured myself another glass of wine and that is unheard of :rotfl:
    :D

But forgetting what I'm doing is what happens all the time when I am drinking!!!:rotfl:

Seriously though Fluffy, thanks for the link. I plan to give it a try.

Thanks ntc for the shiny new list. All the zero achievement looks so sad! My lowly target makes me a bit ashamed :o but if I try hard I might get a jumpy and a clappy!!

Welcome to all new people and here's to a successful March. What was it in Star Wars (or was it Star Trek??) something about boldly go??

Fay thanks for your post, I wonder if we as humans will ever be content? I once spent a weekend in a Bhuddist centre that was interesting, they were all living a simple life but were content. I want to live a more simple life less materalistic and yes more in touch with the universe. Hugs to you xxxxxxxxxxx:A
Cherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home :)

I meant to also say - that in the 4 days that I have been cutting down by one glass [175 ml] a night, that means I HAVEN'T drunk one whole entire bottle of wine :j :j :T :T That's at least 8 units of alcohol I HAVEN'T consumed, plus less calories - so it will help my diet too [see my signature :D ] AND saved the cost of a bottle of wine :j

    Day 5 today

I know I haven't had an alcohol free night yet this year, but cutting down is a big thing for me and a good start to having some AF days each week I think :j

I kind of understand I think - from my own point of view - I should be very very content - but I am utterly not - and I don't understand why.

Somehow its like my brain hasn't caught up with my life or something? Now who's non-sensical.??

There is nothing about the way that we live really that should sustain any kind of relationship with alcohol - and yet its all tangled up together somehow - I can't decide where it all fits in - because its all at odds with each ohter if that makes any sort of sense??

The thing I seek most in the universe is contentment so I wish you ever so much good luck yourself.

Never thought of our life as new age - more like the clampets meets the goodlife meets david bellamy:confused:

Hi Fay - nice to 'meet' you :D

Your post here struck a chord with me and I wanted to share the title of a book that has really helped me in the past to feel more satisfied and appreciative of the smaller things in life. It is a little americanised and a little over the top in parts, but if you can cut through some of that, it has got some good messages. Easy to read 'cos each page is for a day (like a diary) and at the end of each month, there are ideas to help you explore the ideas of contentment further. It's called 'Simple Abundance' by Sarah Ban Breathnach. It's quite old now but I'm sure it will still be available from places like Amazon etc - take a look and see what you think :D

Hi Budget Babe (& Fay) - there is a 'simplifying life' thread in Oldstyle which is very interesting, but you may have already seen it. I think being in debt/on a tight budget means you some times have no choice but not to be materialistic. Well, I know that I am a better person for having gone down the DFW route, although let that slip a bit lately. I am definately with you on the 'I want to be content' journey!

Where did you do the weekend at the Bhuddist centre? Was it in this country? Sounds interesting....
