i was going to be crude and mention some sort of 'rapid digestive transit' issues...but thats lowering the tone of the forum somewhat, innit..
No, not really, just exercise and lots of proper fresh food. And only eating when I'm hungry, and stopping when I'm full0 -
Needstochange wrote: »maman - know what you mean about drinking on tv its on every programme nearly. Saturday Kitchen is one of my favs and the start on the wine at 10am:eek: I doubt they will ever ban drinking on tv though its so ingrained in our society (mind you i guess smoking was a few years ago too)
:T
I love that saying 'I love to cook with wine, sometimes I put it in the food!'
I know drinking is ingrained in the culture and there is big money in sponsorship but I watched a Buddy Holly tribute last week and it was a re-run of programme they'd done for the 25 year anniversary. It was amazing seeing people smoking while being interviewed. I felt I was watching people doing something really naughty!!0 -

I like the bits of The Simpsons, where they'll be watching an old black and white kids show, and it'll be sponsored by Laramie Cigarettes....

I watched that (great wasn't it!!) and thought it looked funny when the people sat behind him on the 'stage' (although looked more like one of those huts you get on the beach and this was meant to be a festival kind of affair!) watching him playing and singing where puffing away! On another note, did you see that weird looking bloke continually smiling inanely at the camera during his entire set!?
Must admit though, although I wasn't around yet in the 60's it looked like an amazing time to live through during teenage/early 20's life, made me quite jealous, no surging forward of the crowds, stabbing, drunken behaviour ()

Yes, there was drunken behaviour in the 1960s.
Wasn't someone killed at a Rolling Stones concert too?
I look back with fondness at the 80s, but it may not be a great decade, all things considered. Love the music though0 -

Yeah me too GC, maybe it's just nostalgia and the fact that we're all getting older that we think back with fondness!!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

And winds up the clock
And knocks dust of the shelf
Home is a love that I miss very much
So the past has been bottled, and labelled with love.0 -

Someone thought it would be a great idea to hire the local hells angel chapter to act as crowd control...0
