It can be really annoying, having to justify our choice not to drink can't it? I often used the "love too, but I'm taking antibiotics" excuse, but lately I just say "because I'll feel better tomorrow if I don't". Then I change the subject. I know that some of my friends like me drinking, because it justifies them getting ratted....tough! Sorry, if that sounds selfish, but I really think sometimes we have to be!

Thing is I know exactly who will be the biggest pain in the !!! about it.

I'm considering saying "Look mate, last time I drank at a family party, I woke up the next morning in bed with your girlfriend".

I think that might shut him up, heheheh.
  • I don't drink a lot anyway, but have had to go to a lot of parties recently and have said i am on a Gordon Brown alcohol budget...so they are happy for me not to buy a round and i sup lemon and lime all night long.

Edit to say that's a good one GP.
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:

Drinks to remember I, Me and Myself
    And winds up the clock
And knocks dust of the shelf
Home is a love that I miss very much
So the past has been bottled, and labelled with love.
