  • well done molly polly...thats fab - bet you feel a whole lot better for it?! As for it being down to me it SO isnt - its down to you having the courage and self discipline in learning to live your live without reliance on alcohol to gt you through the day and thats no mean feat so a huge well done! And to others who are doing so well...
needs to change -I just feel proud of all of you, rather than the thread per se, although set it up for selfish reasons but chuffed that its making such a diference/providing so many with support!!
Great to hear that some go to AA as know for some that its a real life saver (literally)...at the end of the day doesent make a difference how you do it, as long as you do! Will keep popping in but meanwhile thoughts are with you all...

    Morning all

BB hope you are ok today. Thinking of you.

Well I've finished the Allen Carr book. Still digesting what it was all about. A lot of the points are very good and do stick in your mind. I may read through it again to reinforce it a bit.

Feeling very stressed today - little boy seems intent on winding me up big time. Trying to stay patient but its hard. Days like this are my danger times.

Weather is clearing here a bit thankfully. Be glad to get back to some semblence of normality. Think this last week has driven me a bit stir crazy.

    Have good Mondays all

    Hi all,

Hope you all had a good weekend, not had chance to read all the posts but I hope you are all well.

I have decided that I am turning into a person that I don't recognise, I went to a dinner dance on Saturday and as I didn't want to drink (felt I shouldn't anyway) I offered to drive, well, I had a fantastic time, the best in ages for me and OH, he got a bit tiddly but we had such fun (it would usually end up in a row) and when I got home I decided I would have a night cap so I had a Baileys - Just the one !!! - I am so chuffed with myself.

so my days for February are 8 WB

(as I won't be drinking tonight) so 1/2 way through my challenge already, again I just can't believe it :j

I do put it down to this thread, for opening my eyes to myself, for allowing me to acknowledge to myself that I was drinking too much and for the support in cutting right back.

Thank you all once again (sorry for the long post)

    Hi Everyone,

Thankyou all so much for your messages, I really do appreciate them. Thankyou again with all my heart
Love and Hugs to you all. xxxxx

I am still alcohol free and to be honest I don't feel like drinking which I know is such a suprise. I guess that I realise I have been doing too much of that and it hasn't made things any better, ok perhaps whilst having a drink at first but then when you wake up and feel terrible, everything seems twice as bad. I feel better for having a clear head and thinking of what I should do? I wouldn't be af though if I hadn't found this thread, the support on here is so fantastic. You have all helped me so thankyou.

I will be 45 next month and met my husband when I was 17, what I was trying to say in my post yesterday was whilst we had the distraction of our son it was easier to gloss over things. Don't get me wrong my husband has been a fantastic father and our son is everything to both of us. However I am realising that sometimes in life you need to live your own life and do what is right for oneself.

Thankyou again, you are all fantastic and wonderful people. XXXXXXXX

    P.S WINEBOX I AM ON 9 AFD. :T

    Love and hugs to everyone.
