  • For BHB:

Hear, hear is an expression used as a short repeated form of hear ye and hear him. It represents a listener's agreement with the point being made by a speaker. It is often incorrectly spelled "here here", especially on websites.

Glad I checked... I was gonna suggest that the correct version was here here :o

You learn all sorts on here don't you :D

    hows lardloss?

Cheers! I'll try and think of a ramble-worthy subject, sit down with my typing hat on and bash out a masterpiece.

Lardloss hit the doldrums slightly - I had a massive series of losses and hit a new low of 18 stone 1 pound on January 23rd, which was fantastic, and then for the next two weeks or so...nothing. I totally flatlined. Went up by a pound or two, then back down to 18 stone 1, then up by a pound.

Was starting to get a bit despondant, but got weighed this morning and the scales say 17 stone 10 pounds. A new all time low!

    So I'm very happy today.

    :j :j
  • Sorry for not keeping you updated WB - I'm at 9 too. Been a bit lax in visiting the forums. stuff to do...wedding rehearsal last night for sis-in-law, and the actual wedding on saturday.

Not bothered about not drinking on the night, just not looking forward to fielding all the questions and repeating "nah, honestly, I'm not drinking - lime and soda is fine. No, really."

    :)
  • GP well done on lardloss.

Hope the rest of you are ok, behaving, and generally grand today.

    WB me 8/10 I think :)

    Cheers for the enouragement everyone!

Although I must admit, the realisation that my parachute jump is now only 24 pounds away has just sent a bolt of adrenaline / fear / butterflies through my system...

It can be really annoying, having to justify our choice not to drink can't it? I often used the "love too, but I'm taking antibiotics" excuse, but lately I just say "because I'll feel better tomorrow if I don't". Then I change the subject. I know that some of my friends like me drinking, because it justifies them getting ratted....tough! Sorry, if that sounds selfish, but I really think sometimes we have to be!

Off soap box and back to studying!:D
