Ummm Needstochange, fiery ginger beer sounds good. Might have to invest in a bottle of that. And stick me down for a large roll of bubble wrap…;)
Winebox said "IMHO"........all soft drinks are kak!!”
I have a lot of sympathy for that Winebox and I’ve realised I used to resent the GLW buying fizzy pop because it was such an expense. How ridiculous is that?!! It’s a hell of a lot cheaper than Vino.
I hadn’t lost any weight either Patchoulli but this morning three pounds seem to have shifted. That’s the least it should be, all the calories I have saved from being AF, but I remain determined and reminded by what someone said a few days ago about the liver recovering after just one month. To me a healthy liver is much, much more important than a few extra pounds around the middle.
Eselt, regarding moderation everyone needs to know their boundaries. I am hoping mine will be moderation, but there are no guarantees. We will find out in February I guess.
Best wishes to you all, we will soon be in single figures to go :T
19/19 for me Lurkio. Lime and Lemonade :A and then diet coke :A in the pub for me tonight.
Bestest wishes,

Dearest Lurky, another afd today. Thats 19 in a row :j
Yellow Monkey, another icon, me feels it is a dancing chewbacca. May the force be with you. :rotfl:
To everyone else, well done big hugs.
Catch you all tomorrow

Ps Gc well done on the quiting smoking, thankfully thats one vice I have managed to avoid. Hugs xxx
Well done yourself - 19 days is probably the longest period of sobriety for most people since their teenage years.
I wouldn't say I have quit smoking - I have stopped because I no longer smoke (in my head it is better to see myself as a non-smoker, rather than someone who has 'quit' something, because that feels like denial)0 -

Part of me thinks if we could drink in moderation, why don't we?
Good luck people - you are all champs:T
That is fine GC, I think I was saying that whilst we all have related reasons for being on this thread in the first place, what ultimately we aim to achieve at the end may vary for a number of people...

p.s. keep up the good work in the ciggies dept. The main reason I am on this thread is my Mum probably died from smoking those things and you will be much healthier without them. I certainly don't underestimate your achievement.Sealed Pot Challenge 2009 #478 (target £250)Debt free date - Dec 2013, Mortgage free date - Jan 2034AFF (12/28) [target - 12/28], AFJ (29/31) [target 25/31]AFM [no target] [AFD's- 8][1 drink- 4][2 drinks- 4][3 drinks- 1][>3 drinks- 4]0 -
Edit - good on ya Jo! Did you count the number of drinks going down in Corrie? (as usual) maybe we shouldn't watch it after all.
I find that hard too. I don't watch Corrie but any programme where they have a drink gets me fancying one! You can bet that someone will be in the bar at Holby City hospital tomorrow with a very large glass of white!
I'm also wondering whether having AF days will eventually make me want less on 'drinking' days. No sign of it yet.
I have a problem. ( It's only a small one compared to the carp that many of you cope with.) A friend has had to switch a lunchdate from the weekend to one of my AF days. I do so want to reach my target for the month so I have two choices: a sober lunch or have an AF day at the weekend? I'm posting this because telling you all will shame me into meeting my target.
AF for me today Lurkio, so 8AF to date. Thank you so much for keeping the scores and thanks to posters volunteering for Feb and March. I intend to be in this for the long run.0 -
morning all.
my life's a bit complicated at the moment and will be for a long while to come, mainly as the result of the past but that's another story. I knew it wasn't going to be easy, which is one of the reasons it took me so long to stop in the first place....
anyway, when I try and focus on what needs to be done the temptation was often to have a drink...a simple method of keeping myself safe is to think:
"OK, Bis, what's the WORST possible thing you can do right now"..and pretty high up on the list is you-know-what!
A sobering thought.....
It helps me anyway.
take care
BisFor what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
Oh hope you're okay bis?
Feeling unhungovered this morning and am running late for work as usual so gotta dash, will catch up with all the posts from yesterday a bit later.

Phew what a lot to catch up with - well me not AF - WHY I ask you? Cos of course OH left beers in the garage and althougth I know my limitations (ie no alcohol in the house) I stupidly thought its ok its only beer - drank only 2 but still drank them argh. Not OH's fault - but I know I can't have any in the house - that hasnt changed.
No update for me - today is different day - beer is goiing to be removed from the garage and put away somewhere safe or down the sink.
Hope you are all good, sorry not doing so great - need to sabbotage myself better - whilst it wasn't a bottle of wine or two it was still alcohol.
Slept rubbish, but for the first, second and third time I work up I thought - oh god - I hate when I drink I don't sleep properly.
Lots to catch up on here - well done for folks volunteering for scoring the next couple months, when I feel brave I will do the same!
Hope everyone is ok and you Bis. I will try really hard for the 11 that are left - definately get to at least 15 if not bag all remanining 11 days.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

AF Monday so that makes 11. Bit of a slip for five days but still drinking less and exercising more than almost any time in the last four years.0
