GC I may be incorrectly projecting from what you've said, but I read this as: if those of us who are cutting down rather than out succeed in moderation, we will no longer need or want to post on this thread. I guess only time will tell if that turns out to be true. For myself, I hope so cos it means I will be free... hs
Not quite, I didn't articulate myself well again
I meant that if we were skilled at moderation, there would be no reason why we would be posting at all on this thread. I never try to find threads about eating as I eat in moderation. However if I had problems with food, then I would be on those forums.
If this thread helps you drink in moderation, then I recommend you stick very closely to this thread! Or you may just enjoy reading it :rotfl:
But we started posting on here and are doing the AFJ challenge because we were never too strong on moderation!!0 -
Hows the smoking going GC. I found it quite easy compared to this

Two words CREAM SODA......specially with some ice cream in!
18 AF days in a row....haven't done that ...well ....can't remember the last time. Even when i was preganant I'd treat myself to a couple of pints on a friday (went off wine). Lost another 3 lbs so is a massive motivator for me. Good luck all. xLBM 10/08 £12510.74/0 -
"IMHO"........all soft drinks are kak!!
I've yet to find one I can stand in any quantity....apart from water! And I drink loads of (strong) tea when being AF.
Be strong this evening chaps, (& NTC, DO join us...tomorrow. No Corrie but luckily Holby's on...oh dear oh dear oh dear)0 -

Agreed, smoking was a crutch, but drinking was my legs!
I was fearful about everything, so I drank for confidence. Also, I was restless too, and just irritable.
I drank to change the way I felt - I smoked just to satisfy the craving.
Both hard though, and having done 19 days now without nicotine, it has made me realise how very difficult it is to give something up!! I was/am addicted to nicotine, and while I wasn't addicted to alcohol, I abused it regularly.
Both lull you into a false sense of security and tell you to have "just one".0 -
I love popping bubble wrap too!
And I love white chocolate Magnums...sour cream Pringles...Kettle Chips....wine gums (are they alcoholic??) and Haribo Starmix (the little red and white hearts).
And I really really love my bottles of alcofree Becks. I love them with a passion, I walk around the kitchen with my little green bottle that looks just like the real thing, and I think for a split second every now and then, that I'm drinking a proper drink!!
And I like Corrie too - although I prefer Eastenders!
Have a good evening all - I hope to keep reading here and posting here indefinitely.
You lot are not just for January but for life (well, may be not life, but longer than a month - lol!).
XDrinks to remember I, Me and Myself
And winds up the clock
And knocks dust of the shelf
Home is a love that I miss very much
So the past has been bottled, and labelled with love.0 -

uuuurgh - all at the same time???
Looks like quite a few people want to carry this on into Feb -if I'm not treading on anyone's toes I'll volunteer to be the scorer....no not cos its the shortest month :rolleyes:but am hoping to get that goddam boat back on the river in March so Feb might be the last month I'm here pretty much every day - not moved into the realms of mobile wifi yet...but happy to have a go if my addled brain's up to it.
Gonna sign off now but sending AF vibes to everyone who's at it tonight. i've eaten far too much to start on the wine now0
