Stlill on 10.
Left a dance lesson night that I enjoy early to get to the corner shop before it shut to buy some cheap cider that I don't really like whilst running the risk of drink driving the next morning and losing my job as I move to one that involves driving in April.
Stupid, irrational behavior.
Doh, doh, doh and doh again!
May try leaving debit, credit card, most cash locked in my drawer at work next week to avoid temptations. I can buy food, petrol at lunchtimes, Gym, cinema are on direct debits. If I'm not planning to go anywhere else there is nothing I need these for in the evenings. Worked for most of a month last year, so may try that again.0 -
Hi Guys,
Forgot to say, isn't today the day Beckseven has her planned section?
So when you are back Beckseven, hope today goes well for you. Thinking of you and your lovely new addition, I had a section with my son he was so tiny. 2 bags of sugar, happy happy days.
Please let us know the news as soon as you can?
Love to you, Dh and Ds or Dd.

Hi all
Will try and catch up on thread soon. Hope Eselt is doing ok. Been thinking of her.
This week has been really busy. And I'm afraid my solace has been the glass of wine (or two) at the end of the day. Not a BAD week, just busy. So I'm not down, which is an improvement!
I've been trying to keep track of "triggers". And for me I think it really IS i feel I'm rewarding myself. So I've had a bad day, coped with it well..so I DESERVE a glass of wine!
Now all I have to do is learn how to limit it to the ONE or two glasses. Thats always been my problem....the stopping.
So, following the "easing up on Miss P" new years resolution, thats what I will do. I will TRY and stay within the 14 recommended units for the week. Unfortunately I have a large wine glassbut will work out what it holds.
Well done to all of you on AFJ....am ashamed to say I've lost track. But won't kick myself about it. Will keep trying. Estimate is 9 AFD's.
Hugs to winebox...hope you are ok after funeral....hugs to eselt .....and anyone else that needs them

Its good that you won't be kicking yourself Miss P, I can't see why you should - because 9/16 AFD's are pretty good figures so far. Maintaining that to the end of the month will mean you have only been drinking three nights a week in January
:T
Sounds good to me.

Last night I received a nice email from a friend inviting me out for a few beers (along with 3 or 4 other chaps) because the author of the email said he was going to be alcohol free in February...
...bummer eh? As you know I am on the cutting back side of this thread, but I want to push on, whilst keeping pace with Captain Lurkio, and try and complete an AFJ. So I have volunteered to drive.
Not since Uni have I been out drinking with mates and been on nothing stronger than diet coke, but my resolve is strong.
Have a good day all, probably won't get to sign in again today,

16/16 for me Lurks. Am about to hitch up my britches and descending gracefully from the wagon today as am going to a family wedding later and it would surely be rude to refuse a glass or two of summat fizzy (and I've allowed for it in my AFJ target). Moderation's the plan tho', but we'll see. Hope everybody has a good weekend, will be checking back in on Monday and clambering back on. Save my space!

Hi all- its brilliant to see the momentum isn't wearing off, my new years resolutions only usually last a couple of days tops. Well done everyone, makes you wonder really when you see all the money thats thrown at alcohol health campaigns and services, and actually something as simple as a supportive online community like this can be so effective. Perhaps we need to take the mystery out of the whole alcohol recovery industry, and admit that regardless of the imput of the 'professionals', the most successful way to beat this is to recognise we need to draw upon our own inner strength and willpower- no amount of therapy, meds, rehab will help in the the long run if your hearts not really in it.
Hope everyone is OK today, winebox hugs, wheres Jo and Molly? Polaroid, Fay, Biscotte, BHB..oh god I'm gonna forget someone...and everyone, old and new- how you all doing? I have stapled myself to the waggon so I CAN'T slide off again- drastic measures for drastic times I'm afraid- plenty of room.0
