wow...that's unusual....not sure I'd like to go...part of me would find it compelling but also haunting...
please put me down for 16/16 actual...thanksFor what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
Hi all- can't stop blubbing as I've finally managed to catch up with all the posts I missed and I can't believe how lovely you people are and how much you were worried about me and others who are struggling. I think a lot of people think that all drinkers are selfish, but often its because we care about others, take on other peoples problems and crap and take responsibility and are sensitive and think deeply that we drink and those qualities are lost as we drink to try and manage it all.
Just goes to show, no-one in my local pub has asked how I am or where I've been, even though its full of drinking buddies of old, but on here you find genuinely warm and caring people, who are realistic, have empathy and are much nicer people full stop. Some of you guys are amazing- thank you so much.
eselt, stop blubbing, we're fine....(I think!)
It's odd that drinking too much can be seen as selfish when it can often be the result of being unselfish previously and giving of your time and energy and emotion.
Was about to go into a deep and meaningful discussion but need to go to work....so you guys are spared!
so glad you're back..and hi to everyone else!
if it's any comfort, the situation you had is one of the ones I fear most...the ambush with "justifiable reason."
and I know if I had one and was in that kind of mood it would be a one-way thing.....
take care. For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
is he doing it as part of the history curriculum Lurky? I've not been to the WW1 fields but the cemetries and landing beaches in Normandy are really moving - bring you up really short as you realise the sacrifices that were made. Not sure that that could ever happen again (and let's hope not too).
I went out for a lovely meal last night and had some wine with it so my total stays the same. i do feel sooo sluggish this morning and I really didn't drink too much at all - must be getting used to bright eyed mornings!
off for the weekend again but not wanting to indulge too much (mind you we're with big drinking Aussies so I may need help!)0 -

Yes, biscotte, that's right. Not sure he'll appreciate the full impact of events, maybe I should be thankful of that..... not sure I could do it myself.....
Along similar lines, there is a Holocaust exhibition on one floor of the Imperial War Museum... Adults only   wouldn't go there, would be far too upsetting.Neigh, neigh, and thrice neigh

Grief, I can only imagine the content. My young teenager is very interested in WW2 and the holocaust - I know he needs to learn about it but it's a real minefield finding info which is sufficiently detailed but not so much that it gives him nightmares IYSWIM.0 -
Hi all
Busy here this am - 10 for me please - OH coming tonight, whislt he's not a heavy drinker he does drink a bit - to be honest dreading it, I get so nervous when folk come up, first thing I do is open/buy/drink some wine. To be honest in the 6 years I have known him, I don't think I have spent a sober night with him - god that sounds terrible - I don't seem to find a balance.
Sorry for the rambles xTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
Good morning everyone!
DH asked me last night whether I had stopped drinking altogether or just during the week. I may be wrong, but I think I detected a slightly worried tone to his voice. I told him that I would definitely be AF during the week, but Fri/Sat/Sun were optional. I think that me not drinking has made him question how much he drinks too. He's certainly noticed how much less money we spend, and that's after only a few days!
Lurkio, can you put me down for another one please. Ye gods I wish I'd started this at the beginning of the month!0 -
Had a few but not my usual amount of wines with my meal out last night and woke up this morning feeling rotten so my tolerance has definitely plunged. I also woke feeling really guilty
anyway I am out for a work lunch so I think I will stick with diet coke today.
So sticking with my 10 for now Lurkio:o29th Feb Quit Day :j0
