Hi and welcome to all the newbies. I am still a newbie myself. only started this at the beginning of the month and am really addicted to it. It is so encouraging to see the difference these tiny daily payments make! Coming on here and posting every day helps keep you focused as well.
My PAD today is £11. Superb total for yesterday! Well done everyone!!!
Need to do some shopping today as I intend to do lots of baking with the kids next week during half term (instead of going out and spending money). They are really excited about it (they are 8 and 6). If the weather allows will go to the local park as well one day and a trip to McDonalds as a treat. They are so easy to please! (I know, just wait a few years and it will all change)LBM 31/01/2009: £19,422

Also, if you're not fussed about a new phone then haggle like a fiend - I got a new phone and my monthly bill halved by saving I would leave Orange
I can second that. I did pester Vodafone for a better deal by threatening to leave.
IMPORTANT: You must actually ask for code number though (PUK code I think). If you ask for that, they assume you are serious about leaving and offer an even better deal than by you just making threatening noises. Also, look around for what other companies are offering so that you can quote those rates to them.
I was going to switch to PAYG with Asda (8ppm for calls and 4p for texts). I was serious about it too. By staying with my old phone, they were able to offer a much better deal - and only tie me in for 12 months instead of 18. Another bonus was that because I stuck with a phone that has seen better days, I ditched the overbloated insurance policy on it. My monthly bills now come in at under a tenner and I get a fair bit of usage for that - certainly more than I actually need. The only thing I lost out on was rollover minutes but I'm not fussed about that because my monthly allowance is plenty for me.
My line rental will go up to the standard rate from month 10 of the 12 but I can live with that for 3 months in every 12 (I intend to get a deal out of them next time). I have considered going to PAYG anyway in case my finances start affecting my creditworthiness when the mobile co. do a check. That doesn't look likely at the moment but I'm only one biggish illness or a few interest rate hikes from the whole thing collapsing like a pack of cards.0 -
Morning all. I've not been on for a few days but from looking back I can see I've missed parties, 6-packs and very big totals. Welcome to all of the newbies - this is a great thread, very funny and totally mad!!
I was in hospital yesterday for a 'prod and a poke' and I'm still a bit fragile this morning - just the mention of HUMP makes me feel queasy:eek: . Anyway the good news is that everything looks ok although just to wait for the results from a couple of tests.
I've not paid anything to PAD for the last couple of days so £15 for me today to make amends.
Weight loss this week - 2lbs yay. I'm going back to weightwatchers though. I just cannot get my head round slimming world - although whatever I'm doing is working.
Big dodgy hugs :grouphug: to everyone who's having a bad time at the moment.
