Hiya Flylady-flower...it soon becomes addictive this PAD doesn't it. Thing is, it becomes a habit and before you know it you have paid cards off. I remember doing this last year and it made a huge difference but then I stopped it for a month and I soon lost my focus. I have to post everyday to make me do it. What I find frightening is - what did I used to do with this money that i'm finding for PAD. I've nothing to show for it all!! Scary! xx
Yep, I know exactly what you mean - I've saved nearly £80 this month which I would never have done before so where did it come from? It's definitly the odd monies that mount up - as the old saying goes, look after the pennies... You think I would have got that by now eh!
Thanks for the tip about posting every day too... I missed a few days and did loose the focus - it's not a habit yet, so I will post even if I have no pad, just so that I stay on it (actually, I might even post 1p or something silly just to post for the day) Thanks again for dragging me in... it's great...LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
Hi, all.
Usual £2.00 today. I know what you mean, ff, as doing my pad focuses me, and makes sure that I have £60.00 to pay off my debt, rather than paying the minimum payment each month, which I used to do. I love this thread! :jTotal debt as at 22/01/09 ~ £3076.26Paid so far ~ £416.96 / 3076.26

My PAD today - just £1 into my newly set up PAD account! Think I'll clear it out to the debt of the month every payday.
Heading out to my second job tonight - I was so fortunate to work for the NHS up to about 3 years ago. When I left, they offered me the option of staying on in their bank, which I took! It has been an absolute god-send since my LBM just over a year ago; I honestly don't know what I would have done without it. Plus, in the current climate, it gives something to fall back on.
Have a good weekend everyone!Credit Card Debt at LBM (Jan 08): £14981; Debt now (March 2010): £9912

You should only have to declare a second job if you are over a certain grade and even then it is more to do with political conflict rather than being too tired. For example, I work in Finance, so I could not go and get a job with an organisation who might be receiving grants from the council. I have however had several second jobs whilst working for a local authoirty without any problems. These being a Youth Woker, working in a hotel beind the bar and in the Snappy Cafe at the local swimming pool. Your council should pubish a guide stating the HR policy with regard to second employment. It would probably be available on your council's internal web site. Are you able to access a copy?0
