I know how you feel about being accepted for the deal - I managed to get OH accepted for the Virgin 0% for 16 months deal yesterday and have managed to move his MBNA balance to it. The interest free period on MBNA was due to end next month and would have reverted to 22% so glad to have shifted it to 0% for such a long time. All ours is on LOB or 0% now which does make me feel better about the awful interest.
RBS sent some credit card cheques today offering us an increase on the card to £10k limit and the interest rate on the cheques was 29.3% Feel sorry that some people will use them in desperation and then pay huge interest and probably never clear it. We've fallen for it in the past as an easy option but now we are DFW wise we know it should all be on LOB or 0%. Just pleased to still be able to get accepted for such offers - I know some people can't.
Lewby xx
Not wanting to cause you any worry but I think that Virgin CC are run by MBNA and if so, the promotional rate may not apply. Unless you have already discussed this matter with them, you may want to contact them urgently. It may mean paying an extra BT fee and transferring to a third party (if you have one) before BTing to Virgin. Of course, you may have done it that way but omitted that bit for the sake of brevity.0 -

In my financial situation, I find that humour is free of charge and very necessary.
Hope you are staying well and enjoying life.0 -
Evening everyone! Still feeling very positive about getting rid of this damn credit card, so paid £2 today.
On a slightly less positive note, OH took a cut in hours yesterday (as did everyone at his workplace) to ensure that no job losses take place. However to be honest he hasnt been hit as hard as some of the others he works with. He is a chef and they have basically done it based on who is needed the most in the kitchen, some of his colleagues have lost 20 hours per week where as he has only lost 10 so it could be a lot worse!!
Been planning our weekend trip away to london, the hotel and train tickets were paid for a few weeks ago (not using the credit card!!!) by OH as a treat for me. So have just been looking at cheap things to do, am very excited if im honest!! :j Looking forward to having a few days away from everything, even if it isnt completely MSE!
Fag Ash Lil - your smilies always make me smile, i dont know how you have the patience for them!! Maybe i should join the smilie club!

Hi all - can I join your thread please - I have been reading all about your journeys since just before Christmas and have secretly been playing along at home !! as you can see from my signature (hopefully if it works) I am on day 3 of quitting the fags but want that money to go to something special, but the other PAD will be to the CC1 (Mint). I have gone a bit overboard on spreadsheets and juggling money and trying to work out my debt and am a bit confused at the mo - so for the timebeing I'm concentrating on Mint - will update sig soon - but £1 today to min and £2 to the £2 coin pitSmoke free 01/01/09 :TPaD since 10/12/08 - Dec-£46 / Jan-£39.88CC1 Mint [strike]£1215.39[/strike] - £896.63£2 savers club #82 £4 (banked £20)0

welcome jay jay and curly B! (and anyone else new - have been popping on and off today so haven't kept proper track...)
payment to savings today 1.03, had a bit of a shopping day today but quite proud that i didn't go mad and got some good prices. have been looking around for a little ipod dock with speakers to listen to my (free) audiobooks, managed to get one in asda that should have been 25 quid but reduced, then they knocked a fiver off for the knackered box - so paid 15 quid for it. chuffed to bits! and got a few half price tops for the boys as well.
very naughty that me and DS2 had a mcD's lunch, however i chose a happy meal so could have been worse for the diet than it was.
aiming for no spend tomorrow. going to be a funny week (funeral looming, wednesday) but feeling quite positive today - there seems to be a lot of it about (positivity, that is) so thank you! xx
Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A
