terri x( My total PAD today is £233 )
Hiya Terri.
Yep. I'm still about.
Have been in danger of it going all pear shaped and need to adjust all my totals as I've allowed it to lapse in recent days. I have the paperwork and some numbers in my head to do the updates though. It's easy to take flight when something goes wrong but I won't be doing that. No PADs at the moment as I want to see where things lie once I've sorted out the numbers.
My indebtedness has increased and will do so some more over the next few weeks. The trick for me is to minimise it. I was unable to work during the freeze-up and then needed to buy essential equipment for my work (pump got broken due to ice). Also, I have acquired a new hobby that is costing me money - though not huge amounts. I've been tracking my family tree noww that the 1911 census results are around online. It's been one heck of an experience but the experience costs money to download transcrips and copies of original documents. It can become compulsive viewing.
I actually owe more than I did at the start of the year now thanks to buying two new pumps for my business. Although they don't come out of my 4 grand allowance (business expense), I did need to pay by using personal credit card. The other choice was being unable to work at all. I also started using my personal overdraft for some work items too.
Money is going into my business account again now but clearance times take a few days. I also have a £1300 tax bill in a couple of weeks, am awaiting an £82 reminder for poll tax (decided to delay final payment until they send the reminder) and during February and March, there is MOT, service and maintenance due on my van. The service is actually due in February but will delay it a month (18,000 miles or 2 year intervals so small delay shouldn't hurt). Also 200+ accountants bill but he is OK with instalmenrts.
If I had known my tax bill before Dec 31, I would have included it in my original debt but, as things stand, I will have to live with an increased debt level over the next few weeks.
Not pretty but I am sticking around to ride out this temporary setback.
The good side is that due to work backlog, I will be working flat out solid for 4 weeks at decent money. Also, off out in a minute to quote a new job.
I was tempted to run away from here out of embarassment but that's not what this is about.
EDIT: Got the job I quoted for and it will be worth about £436 a year onto my business turnover . Will be going out to work soon to earn some extra today.0 -
Morning folks hope you are all well. £2 to my PAD account from my Amazon payment today.
Weather is really miserable here - was going to go in town and do some shopping in the boots and debenhams sale but little one wants to stay at home and play so think we will do that instead. So should be a NSD as well. Will do some baking this afternoon as I have loads of flour getting near its use by date and some bananas that are going a wee bit black - can see a banana loaf coming on here - mmmmmm.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Teri - that was some PAD yesterday - well done
Jenchin thanks for doing the totals - another great day for everyone seeing as we are getting close to the end of January and people are nearing payday. :j
Fresian - you do a great job of doing the totals - not suprising it went a bit wonky once with all the numbers you have to add in - well done you :T0 -
