(I've only done Venetian of the 5 of them)
We have stayed at the Palazzo, Encore, Signature, Venetian and Bellagio.
The best by far was the Palazzo, but we were upgraded to a Fortuna suite which was over 900 sq ft and was gorgeous.
Out of the standard rooms I would put the Encore first and more or less the order I have them in above.
It's just the location of the Encore I'm not keen on for an extended stay. Just a wee bit far north for my liking.0 -

The Bellagio FountainsLuci we stayed in a fortuna suite as well and loved it. OH's sister is staying in one for her honeymoon later this year so i really hope she likes it too. I love it when friends/family ask for advise in planning their vegas trips, but then i get so nervous in case they dislike something i've recommended as everyone's taste and expectations are so different:o.:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0

The Bellagio Fountainshow much of a pain in the !!! do people think its going to be to be staying in M bay
in terms of getting upto the mid strip area
so far from what i can see
monorail to excal then cross over mgm and monorail from there?
cant decide if should leave my booking there or head upto center strip instead0 -
The Bellagio Fountainscan anyone help please? We fancy soaking in some natural hot springs while in Vegas. We would prefer somewhere out in the wilds rather than just a pool in a resort. Does anyone know of anywhere? I know of some resorts in death Valley. We dont mind driving as we are driving up to Lake Tahoe for our second week
Thanks0 -

It really depends on where you expect to be spending your time. Our first few years in Vegas we were quite happy staying south strip and didn't find it too much hassle to move around - we stayed at Excalibur so were a bit farther north but with the monorail from MB, can't see it would be that much worse. As for the monorail from MGM - if there are 2 or more of you, it may not be the best value - certainly single ride tickets at $5 each *2 = $10 - you'd likely get a taxi from MGM to Sahara (so anywhere else along the line would be less) for that most times of the day I think and less hassle. It may be that daily passes might make sense if you'll be using it a lot in any given day, but with a lot of the stations being quite a haul from the strip sometimes walking doesn't really take that much longer than going by monorail - depending of course how far you are going.
Now that we're used to mid-strip and like the area, it would be hard for us to go back south...but we used to like it just fine...though thinking about it we always had a rental car too, but we did walk quite a lot (and did use the monorail when we could get a BOGOF 10-ride pass for $35 - so 20 rides for $35).Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

The Bellagio FountainsGlad you had a good time
How about a hotel review about what made the Encore so exceptional instead ?
Ok,
We arrived at 11am and there was a room ready for us straight away. We off loaded the bags and headed straight for the pool. There are 2 , the family:eek: and the European:j (optional topless). Comfy padded beds and lovely towels. Iced water on tap at various stages, swim up bar in the middle, gaming area as well. Drinks at the pool were very reasonable as well, cocktails $14 but in huge plastic cups.
Nothing seemed too much trouble, every time I phoned down to housekeeping I was addressed by name. We asked for the turn down service every night and they put fluffy expensive slippers (now at our house) out on little mats either side of the bed, as well as the chocolates, and a little poem on a ribbon on the big fluffy pillow.(also at our house)
I was asking about dry cleaning and mentioned that I had ruined one of Tracy's dresses by spilling chocolate milk over it (don't ask) and they cleaned it for free. One night our hire car failed to start because of a duff battery, we waited for over an hour for recovery, a security guard rode by asked what the problem was, he then radioed down to the valet who sent a guy up with a portable jump set.
The room was smashing, electric drapes, cental lighting controls, swivel T.V. large bathroom with scales and robes, but not as big as Signature or TheHotel, but the decore was first rate. I also like the room floor decore, kinda masculine after the metrosexual colours of the casino. Gotta go out now but will fill you in later with more detailsThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
