The Bellagio FountainsTo be honest as long as the rooms are ok, we would rather have the better view of the Bellagio so question is...
Agree with pebbles...it's some of the south tower rooms that have the view of the fountains but most haven't been refurbished so they're quite worn.
We had a ST room our first time staying there and these are some photos of our view.
More or less straight out the window
Leaning into the window and turning slightly to the right (ignore the monkey)...
And one after dark when the fountains were on...and OK, our faces were smashed up against the window as far as we could to see this much of the fountains, but it was pretty cool.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
The Bellagio FountainsI just read on TA that Danny Gans has died:(

The Bellagio Fountainsdon't forget the 'Guess' shop in Fashion Show Mall... they have some cracking offers in there too even though it's their 'retail' shop... when we were there they had an additional 50% off sale prices... sale prices which were already at least 50% off! Missus went mad in there...! got some nice handbags for $25 each which she was well chuffed with!
Also Macy's sell cheap Guess t-shirts so worth a look there too (whether these are out of season or whatever i have no idea... but don't forget you can get the 11% discount for Macy's from their 'visitor centre' shed... I mean room... just for showing your passport / ID)
Thanks for the heads up. I was contemplating going back to the Premium Outlets as we had such a good time and only stopped because we were done, had sore feet and it was hot. There weren't that many T-shirts at the Guess shop as most of them were Juniors rather than Ladies. I also didn't go into the Guess Accessories shop as hubby went there to check out watches and I didn't think there was anything I would be interested in. Not really into handbags and shoes, but may make an exception.0 -

The Bellagio FountainsOn my Paris card for charging things to the room it states the payment method as "FVS". Does anyone know what that stands for?0

Ok which part of the canyon do you want to go? The west rim is closest to the strip and is where all the helicopter tours from vegas go to. Its considered to be less scenic than the south rim, which is where Grand Canyon National Park itself is. The south rim is further from vegas, about a 5 hour drive. Tours there are usually by plane or coach, or you could just rent a car and drive there yourself. You won't be able to get a helicopter trip there straight from vegas.
You mention lunch on the canyon floor, as far as i know this can only be done at the west rim where certain helicopter tours land on the canyon floor for a half hour and serve a picnic lunch. Narrow down what rim what you want to go to first before you start looking at tours.:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
The Bellagio FountainsAfter your first post I'd looked up the whole fire bet thing and was dying to know how much you had on it. I think you're fine on table games winning over $1199, it's just slots that it's an issue.
I just looked it up and what I found is:
"winnings on all table game progressive side bets with payouts of 300 to 1 or more are fair game for the IRS. Although W-2Gs are not required for typical wagers won from table games such as blackjack, craps, baccarat, roulette, etc., even if you got a decent chunk of change on the layout -- but regardless of the amount, casinos are still subject to the "Money Laundering Rules", and must report to the IRS, using a Cash Transaction Report (CTR), aggregate cash transactions of $10,000 or more in any one day."
Honest, you are a google whizz.
We didn't know about the tax stuff so thought we would play it safe. I can't get my head around how you would have to pay tax on a slot win and not a table game win though.
So if he had hit 6 points, that pays out 1000 to one so we would have been liable, but how would they know. Unless at that point they brought a supervisor down to sort out the forms, we could just walk away with the winnings and cash them in a little at a timeThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0
