The Bellagio FountainsLol @ sturll
Looks like it's just you. We don't go until Monday, so we'll miss it. Our friend who is going to the fight went on Tuesday.0 -
The Bellagio FountainsHere is how the fire bet is played.
I bet $10, the shooter hit 5 points, and I scooped up $2,500!! I had already won over $800 on the shooter as well. I love Ballys!!
Cautious of not having to declare the winnings, Tracy and I divvied up the chips and cashed in some each.
I must add a proviso that this is the worst bet on the craps table, but the shooter was on fire. He had previously hit 3 points and rolled for 1/2 hour, so when he sevened out everyone just passed on the dice so they went back to him. I think the casino must have paid out more than $10,000 on firebets, everyone was on it.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

That's so awesome! After your first post I'd looked up the whole fire bet thing and was dying to know how much you had on it. I think you're fine on table games winning over $1199, it's just slots that it's an issue.
I just looked it up and what I found is:
"winnings on all table game progressive side bets with payouts of 300 to 1 or more are fair game for the IRS. Although W-2Gs are not required for typical wagers won from table games such as blackjack, craps, baccarat, roulette, etc., even if you got a decent chunk of change on the layout -- but regardless of the amount, casinos are still subject to the "Money Laundering Rules", and must report to the IRS, using a Cash Transaction Report (CTR), aggregate cash transactions of $10,000 or more in any one day."
So anyway, your 250:1 would have been ok.
That's so exciting!!! Congrats!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Hi there,
Arrived back from Vegas this morning after a 5 night stay at the Wynn.
Had a fantastic time, the Wynn was amazing, our room was huge and facing down the strip towards Treasure Island, an amazing sight after dark!
We did the helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon, booked through Sundance Helicopter tours. My first time up in a helicopter so I was a bit (!!) scared, but the pilot was lovely, very reassuring & I have to say it was quite an experience.
We went to see "O" at the Bellagio which was the most amazing show I have ever seen! I would quite happily sit through it another 10 times, mind blowing!
I loved the fountains at the Bellagio, they were playing Viva Las Vegas when we watched, it was spectacular!
We ate at the Grand Lux Cafe which was recommended on here (thanks)! We had the buffet at the Bellagio and at the Wynn (I personally preferred the Bellagio), we had breakfast buffet at the Wynn and Breakfast at Dennys (My fav)!! Also ate at the Peppermill, again enjoyable.
Went to the Premium Outlets at Charleston Blvd, got a cab costing around $15.00 got all my Christmas Presents!!
Also got a cab to Walmart to pick up some Ben 10 toys and Wrestling T-shirts & other bits we can't get other here, that cost another $20 each way, but well worth the trip to keep the nippers happy!
Played a few slot machines and roulette which we ended up evens on. Enjoyed people watching in the Parasol Down bar at the Wynn and watching the magical fountain light up every 15 minutes.
All in all a very enjoyable trip!! Thanks for all your advice!0 -

This thread is that big now that I don't know if this has been mentioned already so my apologies if it has...
My friend used to visit the States a lot on business and told me that the hotels (if booked directly) will honour whatever current room rates they have at that point in time even if you have booked beforehand at a different, higher rate. He told me that this was because they don't charge a cancellation fee and that it made more sense for them to offer the room at the lower rate than lose the sale.
My wife and I had booked the Mandalay Bay for 5 nights last year at a rate of $1600. I had already emailed them once and had had the rate reduced to $1400 due to an offer that they had online. However, the night before we flew out, I rang their reservations line and asked if our stay would be any cheaper if we booked then: I was told that I was in luck and that our whole stay would now cost $800!
:T
So, well worth that call the night before or, at the very least, keep an eye on the current prices offered online by the hotels themselves.0 -
The Bellagio FountainsThanks Grover. I think most of us on here are aware of that. Doing that my stay at the IP went from $300 for 5 nights to $100 including the weekend with 3 comped nights. The Signature went from $149/night to $89.
HERE is the latest instalment. A bit later as we've been busy.
Sturll, we were at the MGM when Hatton arrived. We met Amed Khan at the Spice Market buffet and spoke to Ricky Hatton's Dad in the lift coming back to the room.
Yes, we're here for the fight, but we won't be going, not being boxing fans. I could have got tickets no problem when the fight was announced. Spoke to a couple who had hoped to get tickets for the Concierege as they had last time, but they were out of luck. A bit silly really seeing as they're fans.0
