The Bellagio FountainsHi, I'm just looking for some advice about flights. I get married on 14 August and we're planning on going to Vegas for a weeks honeymoon.
The best price I have found for ok-ish flight times is with US Airways 25/8 Gatwick to LAS 10.10 - 19.48 via Charlotte. Returning 01/9 LAS to Gatwick 09.45 - 07.10 via Charlotte. The price is £336 p/p through Netflights. There are cheaper flights but they either have huge stop-overs or leave really early in the morning coming back.
Are US Airways ok? My main concern is the leg room as my OH is 6'5'' but we can't really justify the extra fortune to upgrade from economy.
Any advice would be brilliant as I have been dithering over this for about 3 weeks now!
US Airways are no Ryan Air . £336 is a good price IMO and the plane we flew over to Philly with them on was fine . it had a seat config of 2-4-2 . leg room in front was fine . i can live with not a huge amount of leg room , what i really really hate is sitting next to strangers or even worse being blocked in by strangers .
i found pre booking my seats with them okay , so bag 2 seats on their own and have a great time in Vegas .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
The Bellagio FountainsI agree with ferf, there is little chance of you getting three meals into one day. We tend to go for the Breakfast/ Dinner one day and the snack, Lunch, snack the next. In most places we have eaten the portions are huge.
An example, at McDonald's of all places . They do four sizes for their drinks, and the smallest is the same as the largest in the UK. Translate that info to the food, and you're getting there.
Disclaimer, we don't do fine dining, but I've heard it's similar.0 -

The Fremont street experienceI'll do a trip report in the next few days but going through the photos now and cannot resist posting this...it was so exciting!
I think of 2 things when i see that:
1) Absolutely fantastic and a very tidy amount to win.
2) If only you had have won $68 less it'd have been tax free. How much did you have to pay on it? Or do they just tax the amount over $1200 ($67.25)0 -

No tax to pay - my husband has a US Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (had to get one as I have to list him on my tax return) so the casino doesn't have to withhold 30% of it...and since he's not subject to US taxes, he won't have to pay anything. Had I won it, as a US citizen who files US tax returns I would have had to declare it as far as I know.
My understanding is that some casinos will do the paperwork so that they don't have to withhold 30%, but they aren't obligated to.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I agree Pebbles and the most I ever had to wait for a lift was 5 minutes most of the time there was no-one else waiting but us:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -
The Lion HabitatJust booked 2 nights in the panoramic suite in Planet Hollywood at the end of August. Normally the room is over $600 per night but there's an offer on Travelzoo (US Site) at the moment for only $199 per night. Other suites available too. Can't wait now :-)0
