    We are also thinking of going to the Grand Canyon and spending a night or two, can anyone recommend somewhere to stay?
    Many thanks

    We stayed at Thunderbird Lodge on the rim which was basic *the bathroom was really nice though) but perfectly acceptable and really nice to walk out of the room and be at the rim. If you do decide to stay in the park the dining options are pretty terrible though - if we went again we would go outside the park to eat.

    We spent last week at the IP, and I beg you to change your mind and go elsewhere.
    I'm certainly not fussy, but cannot abide waiting 30 plus minutes for a lift to my room.
    The stairs were the fire exits, and were regularly full of people trying to escape the farce of the lifts.
    The doors to the stairs were one way only, ie you could only enter the stairs from your floor and not exit the stairs to your floor. How this is not a health and safety hazard i don't know.
    My room was fine, and overlooked the pool, but my friends rooms both looked out onto a wall 5 ft from their windows.

    Location = fantastic
    Room = OK

    But all-in-all there is much better for not much more money.

    No choice in the matter i'm afraid.. we are going on an organised tour and thats the accomodation given for our stay in Vegas - i'm sure it'll be ok, only for 3 days and so long as the room is clean i'm not too fussed

    :)

    Why not dump the room and get 3 nights at MGM or Paris for £100 or so?

    Well I've got 18 nights at the IP coming up, 12 of which are free. You can't beat free, especially on a money saving board.

    Don't worry about it.

    Wow.. just finished reading, so much detail - We are at the IP for 3 days, was a bit dubious after reading some reviews but sounds fine from reading your report :)

    You have a great knack for finding discount tickets I have to say!

    Thanks

    I too have just finished reading luci's well written trip report - why is there not a forum topic of these on here? I'm going in a few months and cannot wait! and appreciate reading the views of others

    You can read loads here:

    Though I agree that those from this board are some of the best as they're usually specific to UK travellers and have loads of great ideas for saving money here and there.

    The bad IP opinions. We think it is just fine, OK the elevators can be slow at times, but to put a person off the place when they can't change their reservations is a bit unfair IMHO.
