    I also would strongly advise against the Stratosphere, The location is V poor, and the hotel is dated. OK for a visit, but I think you'd find you spend more getting to and from the hotel that you might think. You'd be better off staying off strip at gold Coast or Orleans than there. JMHO.

    I agree . be very sure you know what your booking

    If it's anything like last year then you'll hear about it live while I'm there! I paid for internet access every day and logged on with a link to my trip report.

    HERE is a link to my trip report from last year for anyone that's interested.

    Wow.. just finished reading, so much detail - We are at the IP for 3 days, was a bit dubious after reading some reviews but sounds fine from reading your report :)

    You have a great knack for finding discount tickets I have to say!

    Thanks

    There is nothing wrong with the IP....ok it might not be as plush as some of the others but it's a perfectly adequate hotel in a very good location....Luci and I wouldn't be returning there if it was awful.....I think some people are just way to fussy.....

    We're ready to book our holiday. Can anyone help us find cheap flights for 01.09.09 to return on 15.08.09?
    I've been looking but im getting confused with all the stop offs etc, dont wanna end up losing a day out of our holiday.
    I've heard everyone saying they booked cheaply with Continental but flights are coming up as £671 each.

    Sorry to be a pain, but im completely lost! :confused: xx

    Hi - not sure if you need a hotel as well as the flights, but I have seen some good offers on ebookers.com lately for Sept - for example if you were to go Friday 4th Sept from Gatwick you could fly to Vegas on Delta Airlines with one stop in Ohio and get to Vegas at 18.20, stay in Planet Hollywood hotel for 12 nights & fly back again with one stop in Ohio on 16th Sept for £688 per person - which I think is quite reasonable?

    Also with this flight there is other options of hotel - including the Mirage for £799 & Bellagio for £855, or even Circus Circus for £457 - just to show you the range in price.

    I would suggest if your dates were a bit flexible as you suggested that you just have a play around with them on various sites and see what comes up as cheapest & works best for you.

    Hi, I'm just looking for some advice about flights. I get married on 14 August and we're planning on going to Vegas for a weeks honeymoon.
    The best price I have found for ok-ish flight times is with US Airways 25/8 Gatwick to LAS 10.10 - 19.48 via Charlotte. Returning 01/9 LAS to Gatwick 09.45 - 07.10 via Charlotte. The price is £336 p/p through Netflights. There are cheaper flights but they either have huge stop-overs or leave really early in the morning coming back.
    Are US Airways ok? My main concern is the leg room as my OH is 6'5'' but we can't really justify the extra fortune to upgrade from economy.
    Any advice would be brilliant as I have been dithering over this for about 3 weeks now!

    Each to there own, as I would class IP as a hole....for a little more money mucho better can be had...

    Incidentally I've not long ago spent 6 weeks at the Embassy Suites and that wasn't too bad in all honesty...I was really worried about being off strip...but it was fine..

    We are also thinking of going to the Grand Canyon and spending a night or two, can anyone recommend somewhere to stay?
    Many thanks

    We stayed at the Grand Hotel in Tusayan,about 5 mins from the park entrance, we liked it and would stay there again.

    We spent last week at the IP, and I beg you to change your mind and go elsewhere.
    I'm certainly not fussy, but cannot abide waiting 30 plus minutes for a lift to my room.
    The stairs were the fire exits, and were regularly full of people trying to escape the farce of the lifts.
    The doors to the stairs were one way only, ie you could only enter the stairs from your floor and not exit the stairs to your floor. How this is not a health and safety hazard i don't know.
    My room was fine, and overlooked the pool, but my friends rooms both looked out onto a wall 5 ft from their windows.

    Location = fantastic
    Room = OK

    But all-in-all there is much better for not much more money.
