We are travelling to Las Vegas tomorrow & flying back on Saturday. I have just gone through the flight times and I am concerned that there is not enough time in between the connecting flights on the return journey.
We are flying from Las Vegas to Philadelphia to Manchester.
The connection that I am concerned about is:
Arrive in Philadelphia Terminal B at 19:26
Depart Philadelphia Terminal A at 20:40
This seems like a very tight connection and I am worried that we may not make our flight back to Manchester.
Does anyone know if we will need to collect our baggage and re-check it in for our Manchester flight or is that all done automatically.
What happens if the flight from Las Vegas is late, will they wait for us?
Just need some advice to rest my mind at ease.
Thanks

No the flight won't wait for you .
But now for the good news . You don't need to recollect you bags ect they will be transfered automatically . .
you will have to collect your bags and go through Immgration and Customs on the outbound journey as Philly will be your point of entry to USA . you will then have to recheck your bags for the LV leg (ie give them to a kid , who dumps them on the correct conveyer belt) , go through security and catch flight for LV
on the return journey your bags will be checked to your final destination @ Las Vegas . If you miss the flight to Manchester because your first flight to Philly is delayed you will be booked on the next flight home ( assuming the flights are all under the same ticket / booking ect ).
basically you will get off one flight walk to the next flights gate and get on the flight home ( you will checked in for it @ LV) . last time we connected in Washington on the way home we had 45 mins in between and we were delayed 15 mins on 1st leg . they were already boarding the flight to UK when we arrived at the Gate , yet i still had plenty of time to buy and eat a foot long subway Sandwich .
don't worry USA are set up for all of this ,Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Thanks for your quick reply.
Yeah it is all on the same booking - booked with Expedia!!
Would you think it is do-able to get from one terminal in Philadelphia, through all the checks etc and on the plane within an hour??
I am a bit concerned now. The next flight out of Philadelphia to Manchester with the same airline is 5 days later!!
Will it cost us if we have to change flights??0 -
The Bellagio FountainsYou should be fine. We have done the same changeover several times. It really isn't too far from terminal A to B. On the way back it is even shorter. An hour and 15 minutes is plenty of time.0

Last year I had these same type of questions and phoned Expedia to query about my booking. I would do that if I were you, especially concerning the liability in terms of delays in the first leg of the journey, just to put your mind to rest.0 -
Im about to book a week in The Mirage. It says 48 hours notice to cancel and recieve refund of the deposit. Will they refund if i book with a debit card or just a credit card?
Stupid credit card expires end of April so they wont let me book for Sept. Cant wait for the new card because the discount code for the Mirage expires before then.
Appreciate any info and thanks for your help so far :T0 -

I can't see why the type of card would make a difference - if you cancel before the window closes you'll get a refund.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

like i said , on the Return journey the only check you will have is to hand the boarding crew your boarding pass for the Manchester flight ( which be given to you in LV) . it really will be a case of walking from Gate to Gate i think , although i have not connected in Philly on a return journey . but have on a outward connection . Philly airport isn't anything special but we had no real problems there .
if you do miss the flight because the carrier was late getting you to your connection , they are obliged and contracted to get your destination . i cannot believe they won't have another flight leaving for a week , but they might even stick you on a partner airline home.
i assume you are flying with US Airways ( Philly is their Hub) who are part of the Star alliance Network .
if want some more advice on this then why not try https://www.flyertalk.com forums
Stop fretting and have a great time in Vegas .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
I haven't been on this site for a while I must confess and I have tried trawling through the huge amount of pages but couldn't find an answer so apologies for asking something that may have already been answered. I booked the Paris for me and family when it was mentioned on here last Nov/Dec as the rate was only $60 per night. The rate was linked to the fact I think that you were supposed to have an LVI card. I know some people were going out around Jan and were going to reply back as to whether they asked for the card, I can get one if needs be just means a 4+ hours round journey, rather than find I have to pay full rate if I don't have this?
Also can anyone advise on a trip around the Grand Cayon by car, we were planning to do this before moving onto LV but having looked at Google maps it says it takes about 8 hrs to get round the GC and then it would take another 7 hrs to get to LV( this is from the southern rim but we would be going in from the direction of Flagstaff). If this is the case I think we may have to change our plans. Many thanks in advance!0
