Sorry to hear you've had some broken nights Lala...it's no fun when it happens. DD has been coming in for the past couple of nights - I think due to the cold - which means that none of us get a great night's sleep. She sleeps between OH and I and 'spreads' so that we are confined to a strip of bed approximately 2" wide....

I'm expecting her in tonight as we've had to give the cat up for adoption today...long story, but we had the cat for 2 years but she never seemed to grasp the concept of being house trained......and we tried everything (both OH and I have had cats all our lives....). She was six months old when she came to us and we were assured she had been properly socialised by the charity we got her from.

Obviously, with a new baby on the way it was a situation that could not really continue. Very sad really, because apart from that she was (is) a lovely animal.

Apart from that sad event, things have been going well over the past couple of days. I've cleaned our bedroom from top to bottom, changed sheets, hoovered the entire upstairs, made pizza and garlic bread for tea, and managed to do my dailies. I've still got half a basket of ironing to do, which will probably take me an hour, then the evening's mine!

I've got some baking to do, but that will happen tomorrow morning whilst I'm cooking lunch - I've got my mum and dad over to babysit while we go and see a play in the afternoon (lunch is their 'payment'). We still need to build some of the furniture that we bought at IKEA and I think I'll be helping OH with his tax return on Sunday (seeing as I'm keeper of the files!).

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
    Take care

been feeling low so the house has been a bit behind, still checking in and things are much more organised than before, especially the bed changing, writing it down really helps spur me on, and remembering who is next to be done!
  • Evening All who still read this thread , again I'm hoping we're just all too busy to post :p .

After having a bit of messed up week last week, it looks likely to continue a bit this week too. Mum is out of hosp but am going round each day to help out a bit as my dad is just useless. I'm doing my best too get my dailies done which so far I'm doing ok. Little bit every day and I can keep on top of things. Afternoons have been spent, going to the park, baking and painting, probably more of the same next week :)

Work has started on the downstairs loo. OH will be doing bits each weekend so it won't be done overnight but it's a start and he is well aware that it needs to be done b4 end of March (baby due end of April) so we can then redecorate DD's new room.

For the 2nd week I'm not giving myself any weekly tasks but strangely I'm finding myself doing things on the list without being prompted :rotfl: . For example the 8 drawer sideboard has now had 3 of the drawers sorted, great :j .

    Getting there :D

    Hello all
I'm hoping it's because we are all so busy that we're not managing to post so often...would hate to see this thread die a death only 4 weeks into the new year.

I'm still womanfully struggling through and I think things are starting to become more organised - only slightly, but I think we're getting there. I still have my off days, days where I can't be bothered to even start, but if I'm feeling like that I just restrict myself to my dailies...but then I start seeing other things I can do.

We've been very busy today, clearing up around the place, building the furniture for DD (still have to put this in her room - chest of drawers and bookshelf need to be secured to the wall), freecycling stuff, clearing some bits and pieces out of the garden, along with a load of washing, roast dinner, and some baking.

I'm hoping that OH will get some of the baby things down from the loft so that I can work out if there's anything we need to buy. I've got a moses basket to clean and disinfect (been in the loft), and my hospital bag to pack - it's only got a few bits and pieces in it at the moment.

I have this constant feeling that I'm running out of time - and what if this baby bucks the trend and arrives early?

Think I might have to sit down and write a master list of all the things I need to do so that when I disappear to have the baby, everything runs smoothly. Even simple things like DDs routine need to be written down for my sister and mum, who will be looking after her when the time comes.

Deep breaths, stay calm, don't panic!

Right, I'm off to bed to try and get a good night's sleep - virtually impossible as I wake up every time I turn over now (no stomach muscles to speak of), and I have to visit the bathroom at least once every night....I do enjoy being pregnant, just not so keen on the last couple of months.

    Take care all

Hi everybody! We must all be very busy as not much posting going on! I have been doing my dailies and keeping up with my walking. My house does need a good clean though so will be trying to do flylady this next month so that every room gets a good deep clean! My DD started crawling on christmas day, though until last week she was still pretty still, now she is literally everywhere and it makes you realise how mucky the floors are! Even when it looks clean she ends up finding a bit of fluff, or having dusty knees! I am going to have to get a stairgate for the top landing too! Now the fun begins! :)
Well keep up the organising everyone hope your all doing a bit better than me, I feel like I'm coasting at the minute, I need to really get stuck in. :D

Hi everyone, I have been too busy to post as I have been working, doing a shift today and tomorrow then I'm off for 4 days so should get lots done. Have changed my shifts so I only work mon-wed, more of a routine for ds. OH training in his new job and had a half day yesterday, came home and he had tidied the living room and kitchen, put a washing on and filled the dishwasher so that should give me a head start on the cleaning
  • Ishtar - you sound just like me about your pregnancy! i keep leaving things and then have a little worry about what if this baby is different to my girls and comes early!! I really need to write a list of things that we need to get.....
I am trying to do the flylady list everyday (or atleast some of it!!) so that the house is in some kind of order!
dh is of work as he is ill!! And i think he has now given it to me as i feel horrible today!! oh well must carry on.....

hope everyone is getting on ok

  • Good to see people back on here posting

Saying that though I haven't really much to report :rotfl: .

I have been visiting my mum daily up until yesterday but she's let me off today and tomorrow  , think she's getting sick of me , sounds like she's on the mend then :p.

House work has been ticking over nicely for once and yesterday did some baking in the afternoon with DD and been out shopping and the park with her this afternoon. I'm using my slow cooker for the first time today. I have a bolognaise sause bubbling away, I'm finding it so hard not the keep checking up on it though, can't wait to try it and it should make a few meals to stick in the freezer :D .

Hope everyone else is getting on ok :)
