    Hi everyone,

Thank you for the welcomes and thanks for the tips mummy2mygirls and rippedoff3 (not long til your LO arrives in May! Hope you're keeping well) It's comforting to know I'm not alone fernlibee - thank heavens for lovely OH's eh?!

    BIG congratulations to newmum2007 !!!

Well, I have been reading though not posting as I haven't really made great progress yet, BUT, I am in a very positive mindset and have decided I'm pretty much as bottom now so therefore things will get better :)

Today is going to be spent playing with my DD2, watching a funny film when she has a nap and sorting out my make up (thank you Lalaladybird) and I'm going to write out a rough plan of what I want to achieve and when at home. Tea tonight will be nice easy Jackets.

Have a good day everyone :j
  • Thanks for all the congratulations!!!
This morning I wrote a rough plan of what I want to achieve during each day, although I only have the mornings to get things done as OH works nights and sleeps during the afternoon (we live in a flat so cant get the hoover out!) then that leaves the afternoon for doing nice things!
Now off to sort my make up then going to make a start on dinner, having a roast as OH last supper before he goes back to work tomorrow.

    Hi Everyone,

Hope its not too late to join you all.

Im not technically a SAHM as i work 1.5 days per week and one of them is a 12hr day so cant get a thing done on that day, i go to playgroup 2 mornings per week with my almost 2yr old DD, its her birthday next week so need to allocate some time to bake and decorate 2 cakes, i want to do a meal planner and a housework planner to be more organised, TBH, ive let things slip a bit as the house could be a bit tidier but all of the xmas toys seem to have taken over every room and with DD's birthday next week i really dont know where we will put everything, i already have some jobs that i do on certain days so that wont change but i'll incorporate them in to my new housework planner, will need to also have a look at the Flylady thread to get some ideas.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Today's task is to organise our make up. Keep the make up used on a daily basis in one bag/box/container and other make up used occasionally eg. nights out (what are they?:rotfl:) in another. Throw away any that hasn't been used in 6 months. Give the bag a wipe out, sharpen any eye/lip pencils and wash sponges/brushes (baby shampoo/washing up liquid work well).

Spooky ... I bought some new containers for makeup and bathroom stuff whilst at IKEA today ... also bought a larger than usual fruit bowl, so that the dining table looks less cluttered with the old fruit bowl and fruit spilling out over it ... and some tidy looking houseplants.

Off to do some bubblepainting now ... so won't tune in again until tomorrow ... but my big task tomorrow evening is to sort through my video and dvd collection and charity shop anything that I've never got round to watching for over a year ... apart from my collection of Wham! videos, they're sacred. :D
    That's Numberwang!

Double-spooky, I have this on my list to buy at IKEA on Sunday.....Fed up with my cotton wool in one room, cleanser and toner in another, and then back to the bedroom for moisturiser. Best not to ask why it's like this really....cos I don't know!!

Have had a couple of good days, got plenty done, but feeling tired today. I walk DD to school every morning - it's a 1.5 mile round trip - so by Friday I've had enough. Not really an option to take the car as I'd be sitting in a queue of traffic for 45 minutes (takes 25 to walk!) and then have nowhere to park outside the school.

I do collect her in the car though....but once the baby's here and DD has a bit more stamina I'm aiming to walk to collect her too.

Feeling a bit fed up right now as I've been out this afternoon and come back to see that the 'dishwasher fairy' hasn't been working and there's assorted plates, saucepans, etc, all over my nice clean sides. (OH working from home today!).

Never mind....it's the work of moments these days as I have stopped procrastinating over it. If you just clean it up then it's done...

I read something once about negative energy (probably in a feng shui book), which said that if you leave things lying about then every time you look at them they sap some of your energy. Not sure how true it actually is, but I know things feel better if they are tidy - even if arranged in a tidy pile....So, I'm off to stack everything on my sides neatly :rotfl:

Planning to have a relatively easy day tomorrow - OH and his brother off to collect my futon mattress, so I get time with DD for an hour or two. Should be fun!

Hope you all have a great evening - I'd better go and cook food...pasta with a tomato and sausage sauce.

Then I'm going to have a sit down!

    Take care all
    D

My make up is fairly organised already as I hardly ever use it- plus as I mentioned before I'm slightly obsessive compulsive about things in sets! ha ha! Got my dailies done, and cooked a 'new' dinner which was lovely! puff pastry parcels! Not the healthiest, but I'm usually healthy so I wanted to have a day off! :)

Got some flooring off freecycle to do my bathroom floor, so that will be looking all lovely and new by the end of the weekend- I hope! :)

I still haven't managed to get some storage yet- must nip to IKEA too! We're all at it, though admittedly I should have done it ages ago seeing as I only live 1/2 a mile from it! I've got no excuse :)
  • I'm sooo tired, my dd woke me up 4 times for no apparent reason  I think she just wanted a cuddle , I woke up wide awake at midnight and couldn't get back to sleep so I read til 1.30am then still didn't drop off until about 3am. At 6am when dd woke me (the 4th time) I gave her some warm milk and put her back to bed ;) and we were both sleeping soundly when the doorbell went at 7.30am....my exercise bike arrived! I'm glad to get it but why so early? I must say that I feel so glad I'm lucky enough to be a SAHM after nights like those. OH is working today so no getting back to bed for a nap for me  although I might try when dd goes for one :o

A day vegging out on the couch is the plan for today ;)
  • You have my sympathy too Lala, my DD woke up at 4am wanting Daddy, then at 6am wanting me, so I haven't slept since 4am. Sooooo tired. My OH is working too but only this morning. We might go to the library later but think the park is a no go as it's chucking it down here in Manchester, no surprise there then ;).

We have to be back for 1pm as Mr T is making a delivery and Virgin are coming to put in a shiny new V+ box in, OH is very pleased about that, he doesn't get to watch nearly enough telly already  .

Good news on getting the new downstairs toilet installed :D . OH is getting his mate in next Thurs/Fri to dig down a bit in the cellar (the head room isn't sufficient atm) so hopefully next weekend OH can get the concrete in and create a little room and sort the plumbing out from there. It'll be a god send when it's done as it's next door from the new "toy room" we had built last year. ATM if I'm down there with DD I have to go up 2 flights to go to the loo, perfectly livable if you not pregnant and DD just has a potty down there. So am really looking forward to getting this one done :D.

Other than that just chilling out this weekend. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :)
