Done some housework today! Sorted a massive box of clothes we have been given for DD into keeps, charity shop, pass on to friend, and washed the keeps pile, so that is drying now. Done dishwasher and general daily stuff eg breakfast, dressed, lunch etc.... Went for a realllllllly long walk! My legs might actually drop off! Ended up walking about 10 miles as I got lost (again- seem to make a habit of this! Think I need a map!) But it's good because I would never in a million years set out to walk even 3 miles! ha ha! So it's really satisfying. Plus it was lovely and sunny today!
Have put dinner on- baked potatoes so really easy! Just need to make a start on the sauce to go with and make a salad!
I need to be out of the house by 9 tomorrow and I normally only do afternoon things so I can potter in the mornings but I need to be out so this eve, I want to:
pack our bag for tomorrow- clean nappies, lunch, drinks etc
Lay out clothes for DD and me,
lay out breakfast stuff,
In the morn I must make sure I get up before DD and get ready (quietly) otherwise I will be running late!

Sorry I havent popped in since my first post on this thread ... been busy!!!
In many respects I have my daily routine off to a t now but I let myself down a lot on other aspects.
Normally I get my little boy up and empty the dishwasher (on each night, economy 7) whilst chatting to him whilst he has his toast. I keep loading it up during the day and have just started putting his bottles in it, for some reason I thought they would stain before until a friend told me they didn't.
My aim is to have got up an hour before him so I should be showered, hair washed, make up on and ready for the day by the time he is up. I find this makes a huge difference, if I am not ready before him it takes soooo much longer and I just feel grotty and like the day hasnt really begun!
The washer goes on every night (economy 7) so I empty it after breakfast and hang the clothes on airers in our bedroom whilst he is running around playing. Then get the next load ready and wash and dress little poppet.
We come downstairs and he plays for about an hour or so whilst I get on with my jobs, different ones every day. He has a snack at 10:30ish and then hopefully bed for an hour whilst I get on with jobs I can't do when he is up.
Then lunch and out for the afternoon, different activity every day such as swimming, gymnastics, seeing friends with babies the same age, Mums and Tots etc.
Always home for 5 and tea time, then little play, bath, milk and bed.
I really find that getting up an hour before him makes the day go soooo much better.
I fall down on the fact I always have so much to do, just silly things like filing, ringing up companies, correspondance etc. I don't know how I get so many things to do, does anybody else feel like this? I set time aside each week to sort out things like this but it seems to take forever!
Also, I am also absolutely rubbish at cleaning because I hate it!!!!
I tidy as I go and things like hovering and polishing, keeping kitchen clean are fine but deep cleaning, windows, high cleaning, pulling furniture out, turning beds over etc just hardly ever seem to get done.
I have tried a routine but as I hate these things I just keep putting them off.
Cooking I am great at and I love it, I find it effortless to get good quality healthy home made meals on the table all the time. I just wish I had the same energy when it comes to cleaning the house!!!!!!!!!
Oh and the ironing is fine too, although I don't like doing it, a steam iron was the best £70 I ever spent and I get through all of our ironing (bear in mind the washer is on every night and I have about 2-3 baskets full a week including hubby shirts) on a Monday night within an hour. I can only iron whilst baby in bed and when the telly is on!!!!0 -
Hello All
Hope everything is going well.
Had a productive day - sold 3 books on Greenmetropolis, so posted them off, cleared the living room...it had become a bit of a dumping ground, so loads had to go. Still has OHs toolboxes in there (), will have to have words. The table has been cleared and polished (and stuff put in it's rightful place) and is looking good...this is something I'm going to keep up with as we can't seem to have a flat surface in our house without it being covered in junk. Dusted and hoovered living room and swept kitchen floor. All in addition to my dailies, which seemed to be a bit of a chore this morning.
Major task for tomorrow is to clear out the understairs cupboard (AKA the glory hole). For some reason is has just been a carrier bag breeding ground since we moved in...I want it to hold the aforementioned toolkits, the hoover, the sack of potatoes I bought at the weekend, and my clothes horse when it's not in use (please let it stop raining!).
Have started (yet) another bag for the charity shop - DDs outgrown clothes, books and a couple of unwanted Christmas presents, which sounds a bit ungrateful, but we're seriously not going to ever use them...and they aren't the sort of present we can 'recycle' to someone else without it being obvious where they came from  (oh, the politics of family).
Got another fairly busy day planned for tomorrow - hoping to start sorting out the wardrobe, which became yet another dumping ground when we moved in (it's a huge fitted one). I've also got to start looking at packing my hospital bag . It's all come around a bit quick!
Anyway, have a great evening.
Take care

I did get the girls clothes out ready for tomorrow but still need to make the lunches for tomorrow and also unload the second wash and fill the machine ready for the morning..... and wash up from dinner!! oh the list goes on......

I'm beginning to feel really stressed!
I'm really struggling with going back to work after christmas. It;s all very well getting dinner ready and keeping on top of the house (have done loads of cleaning / clearing out / freecycling / ebaying, etc.) but how can I then fit in quality time with my children?? At the moment I'm exhausted!!!!!
However, I should feel proud of all I have achieved in the last two weeks
- sorted both boys bedrooms, sorted out their clothes in drawers and wardrobes and freecycled anything unsuitable
- sorted mine and husbands wardrobes and got rid where necessary
- sorted through the Christmas stash; know how many presents I have and have put loads and loads on ebay
- done the understairs cupboard
- menu planned for the next couple of weeks
- made bread every day; about to make fresh yoghurt
- kept on top of the cleaning and ironing
- sorted out all the cupboards and drawers in kitchen, living room and dining room
- all toys in the correct places!
- booked two holidays for this year!#
- all lessons planned for the week!
- all errands run
- cleared out all unwanted stuff in study
But my kids just want to come home and watch tv, they don't seem to want to play with me! And i'm working SO hard to keep on top of it allThat's Numberwang!0 -
yeah same here - last week went well, this week not good, struggling to do what i planned and feel fed up. Feel a bit housebound so going out tomorrow to see if it helps.0

Today, for me, has just been a keep on top of it day. I didn't clean the front room, but I did go round and put stuff away that was starting to accumulate on the sides. Did the same in the bathroom and girls room so it looks good!
The only thing I did do was to pull out the old paperwork from the locked cupboard (a walk in closet type thing in the girls room that is a dumping hole) to check my old tax codes (for the childrens tax credit thing in 2003) and whilst I had it open I dumped some of the sleeping bags the girls used for their last trip - so at least they are out of my room and I now have the space back under the dressing table!
But my best bit today was some me time! So for the first time since I got pregnant, I have dyed my hair, had a facial and given myself a manicure! I currently feel great - and will stay that way until Jack wakes for his 3am feed!!!0 -
morning :hello:
i finally have a half decent sleep (only woke 5 times instead of the 'usual' 20!) - ds came into my room at 6.40 and slightly touched my arm and with a huuuuuuge grin on his face. then he showed me the coin he got from the toothfairy- he is so proud of it!!!!
fern sounds like you had a good day, especially with the long walk - i guess once you were (safely) back home you actually enjoyed it!
felicity yes these big jobs are difficult to fit in. maybe pick one or two day(s) each week when you do one big thing! then eventually you'll get through them all and since they have been done they will take less time next time.
eg filing: if you do just 10min every day it's soon done! (it takes less time than you think - just the big mountain is discouraging)
ishtar that sounds familiar. as soon as i clear and clean a flat surface Oh will come along and dumpt his things!
good luck with the 'glory hole'
muymmy2 one trip is excellent! - did you do all your things yesterday? you sure will feel so much better in the morning! :grouphug:
morgan wow! i am impressed!! - maybe you could make it a movie night? with popcorn and a funny movie?
and you didn't do all this for your kids, you did it for yourself!! and i am sure YOU feel much better for it :grouphug:
skylight that's what it is all about. to get jobs done so that in the end you get some 'me-time' - well done!! :T0 -
Well today I think I'm going to have a lazy day! I'm not feeling very well and was really good yesterday - was baking rusks for DS at 10pm last night lol! So today I think I'm just gonna do the bare minimum although I do need to think of something to do this afternoon after monkey's had his lunch coz he gets really grumpy if we stay in and it's easier to keep him occupied if we go somewhere!0

Morning all, although its nearly afternoon and Ive just got up. Really tired this week and all my good plans have gone awry.
DH had the snip this week, and realisation has set in that there will be no more babies for Skipsmum. It was a joint decision as we cant go through the pain of losing any more, but it seems very final today.
On a brighter note, I have achieved a proper cooked dinner every day, and baked bread. Done lots of work with DS1. Walked the dog every day. House is a tip, but DH is off for a week so it would be!
Havent managed to do much work with DS2, because hed rather watch cartoons with his dad (surprise!)
My next plan is to do flyladies morning routine every day, and clean my teeth before bed (instead of falling exhausted on to the bed without bothering).
Love to all
