Well good morning everyone :-) It's a bank holiday here in Gib, and DH is off work, so the weekend is not quite over for us. Rest of the week is as normal though, playgroup is Tue, Thur and Fri 0930 - 1200, and the midwife is coming to see me on Wed at 1030. DH got all the food shopping for the week yesterday AM while I had a lie in, but we do need nappies so need to go maybe Wednesday evening.
    TO DO LIST:
Washing Done and Hung to Dry (Daily)
    Dry Washing Put Away (Daily)
    Clean and Sweep Kitchen (Daily)
Keep Up With Pot Washing After Lunch (Daily)
Hoover x 2 (Mon and Thur)
    Mop Kitchen Floor (Monday)
Clean Bathroom x 2 (Mon and Thur)
    Change and Wash Bedding (Friday)
    Declutter Living Room Bookshelves
Sort Through Living Room Paperwork Drawer
Baking (Possibly Wednesday) - This is in Green as it's my big change for this week that I want to keep up through the year!)

Menu Plan (Mon - Fri days are swappable!):
HM Meatballs and Pasta (got 500g mince so will make some for freezer too)
    Chicken Pie, Mash, Veg
Cauliflower/Brocolli Cheese with Wedges and Sausages
    Shepherds Pie and Veg
Fish Fingers, Chips and Mushy Peas

Sam010185 - Is your DH Military then? I have cunningly deduced this because you mentioned camp and parade. My DH is RAF which is why we are out here in Gib..

I iron all bedding (can't beat the feeling of fresh crisp sheets and duvets), tea towels, pyjamas, vests etc. And DH is an HR manager -so lots of shirts! (non iron shirts lie!!) And then there's tablecloths/ placemats etc!! :o

    greent

I tried to find an emoticon that would show that I fainted on reading that but there isn't one....you are one impressive lady to do all that ironing and have three children, one on the way and a part time job!

    :hello:Welcome to our group greent!

I'm just waiting for 8am so I can make an app with the doctor, I've had aching legs for a week and last night my knees were agony...I feel like an old old woman (I'm 29)

I finally got round to ordering the Tesco shopping so that will arrive this morning. It took me longer to order it online than if I had gone to the shop

I want to do a menu plan for 14 days that I'll just repeat so I'll try to get that done today. OH thinks I've gone mad with my endless list making :rotfl:

sarahsarah I love your multicoloured lists!

When do you all devise your todo lists and menu plans for the week? I think I am sliiping behind in the organised stakes....I need some tips please ladies!

I got Ikea pjs yesterday and slept in them last night...they are sooo cosy and comfy, I will have to get more!

That's good news for you but bad news for the credit card, I'm just wondering if I can smuggle home a pair in a basket so that OH doesn't notice ...
    That's Numberwang!

I know :naughty: They were only about £8 but I really shouldn't be spending money on things I don't need.

Today's task is to pour yourselves a jug of water (or get out a bottle of water) and leave it out where you will see it with a glass and sip water all day. Aim to finish the jug by bedtime. If you only like cold water either keep topping it up with ice cubes or refresh it regularly. Add lemon slices, fresh mint or even cucumber slices (had this in a restaurant once) to make it more interesting.

This task relates to organising because it is an organised way of drinking more water :rotfl:I poured out a jug of water for myself this morning and have already had loads instead of being on my 3rd cup of tea

morgan - me too! we'll go on thursday to ikea !! :D

Girl stop nesting and get some rest too! :T

Green you certainly have lots on your plate too! i hope the building site won't be too disruptive!!

hmmm i think i need to look out for a playgroup for the kids!
i just prefer taking them out before noon and most of my friends only have time in the afternoon.
today i promised them to go to our local softplay - that'll be a nice quiet hour for me ;)

sarah thanks for reminding me. i really need to start doing a meal plan again. it made things so much easier ...
so kick me if you don't see one by the of today

lalabird oh and thanks for the 'drink more' reminder!! [mental note]

    and i managed to loose 1.2kg in 5 days (2.6lbs) :j:T

i need to get dinner going (bolognese in the SC) so it's finished for when OH goes to work at 4.20 (he works nights)
kids are playing nicely for once - so i'll attack the kitchen after cooking and something in the living room (i kind of try to follow the flyladies on the other thread) - so i think there is a hidden hotspot that needs sorting , and dusting, and windows, and floor!

and i promised the kids to take them to the local softplay later - will be a nice quiet hourwith a book for me :D
  • morning everyone - well i have very good intentions but i just cant drag myself out of bed in the morning before the girls get up!! Dh even phoned me and i got of the phone and stayed in bed where it was nice and warm till dds got up!!! Ohwell, the morning did go better and less rushed as i had set out the clothes etc the night before, so i will keep that up and also do lunches.....and i will keep trying to get up earlier.....

I did get everything i wanted done before the school run but i did it when i got back so the slow cooker is on with dinner in, the bread maker is going and the washing machine is on!!

Im just writting a list for dinner this week and have got this far:
Mon: Ham (from big joint which will do lunches this week aswell!) egg and HM chips
Tue: Lasanga (SP??) (From already made mince mix in the freezer!)
    Wed: Sasuage casserol
    Turs: havent decided yet!!!
Fri: Chicken wings and fried rice
    Sat: Sheperds pie
    Sun:Roast of some kind

Aswell as housework from my daily lists and weekly i want to :
    List some books on amazon
    sort out my bedroom
sort through a few of baby bits for what i want to keep/ebay/charity shop...(this will be ongoing for a while from the amount i have!!!)
Set up magazine rack for all the paperwork and mags that build up beside the sofa...

DD is just started watching cars on dvd, so i have a little time to pop on here (also going to have a look on flylady thread) do a little housework and then when its finished/she has had enough! We are going to have some play time before lunch...

Lalaladybird - thanks for this as our daily as i feel really dehydrated at the moe so must remember to drink more!!
Mozzy - have fun at the soft play area today!
Greent - welcome and i cant believe how much ironing you do!! I couldnt not do any as i do like most of the clothes to be irones but i couldnt do all that.......
Girl - We also have to decorate dds old bedroomas she decided that she needed to pull a little of the wallpaper off!! So now we have to redo it even though it was still in all her nursery print so we could of kept it the same! We have 10 weeks left and the time is starting to go so quick now that i think i better start thinking about what we need for the baby.........

Hope you all have a good day

  • Well I've just dragged my @ss on to the Wii Fit and feel a lot bettr for it! Just have to keep the motivation going lol!
Was just going to bake a cake for DH but monkey has woken up early from his nap so will have to do that this afternoon. Need to go down the shop after feeding time but it's horrible drizzly weather here this morning so don't know if I can be bothered to get the raincover out and have a fight with that to make it fit on the buggy! But I do need some mushrooms for tea.....oh well looks like I'm gonna be getting wet this afternoon! Plus I do like to get out of the house with DS at least once a day for a change of scenery lol!
I do have a dilemma as I've found a part time job in a local sschool which I'm umming and ahhing about applying for. It's a temporary position to cover maternity leave which is ideal really since I plan on being pregnant with no.2 asap so would be an ideal chance to save up a bit of money since my maternity allowance ran out last month! However, in order to get me to work and DS to nursery I would have to eaither walk 3 mile every morning and afternoon or leave extra early to take DH to work in the car first. Also, my DH is in the army and they quite often finish early or have odd unplanned days off, how would nursery work around this? Would he be able to just go pick DS up if he happen to have a Wednesday afternoon off work for example or would we still end up paying for the nursery even tho DS isn't there? I kinda begrudge paying a nursery to look after him when there's someone at home to look after him! Hmmmmmmmmm what to do!
Anyway, must go and sort lunch out for the little monkey! Catch you all later

I have wanted to get so much done, but have been sidetracked by morning sickness this week. I've had to resort to online grocery shops as going to the supermarket sometimes kicks in the morning sickness, seeing all that food everywhere (and the smells of food).

I like today's task. I am bad about drinking enough liquids, so I will make a conscious effort to drink more starting today.

I had to laugh at the comments about kids coming along and messing up behind you - DS did this yesterday. I completely cleaned his room before his nap, and after his nap, he pulled literally everything out! Including all his toys and all his clothing! I went into his room and he was sitting on the armchair looking at a book, with the chaos all over the floor! Silly kid!

I am getting back on track with meal plans, and I remembered to take out the meat last night and put it in the fridge to thaw. So we'll be having pork loins in sauce with noodles tonight. Fairly quick and easy, so that's good.

I've got to do some cleaning in our main bedroom, but DH is going to be in there sleeping in a minute (he works nights), so that will have to wait until this evening.

Everyone else sounds sooo much more organised than me!

Sam - the nursery would most likely charge you for your regular hours, even if he's not there. It's mainly because they have to have staff planned and present, whether your child is there or not.

I'd like to join in please :)

This thread is exactly what I'm looking for. I've just sat and read from the start for inspiration. I'm a SAHM with DS (10) DD1 (7) and DD2 (26 weeks) and I'm struggling at the moment and have lost all motivation. It seems like theres not enough time in the day - my DH is great too, he always helps out and even though he's never criticised, I feel so guilty that he comes home from work to me moaning, the house a tip and tea not even thought of let alone cooking!

DD2 decided sleep wasn't a good idea last night :( so today I'm shattered and when I got back from the school run and looked around at our very messy home I got so upset! I'm weaning DD2 at mo so after finishing her brekkie then BF her it was 10.30 already!

I want to be organised and enjoy being a SAHM so today is my fresh start, I'm going to start small otherwise I'll probably give in straight away.

    So today:

    Meal plan for this week
Bath (as I only pulled on clothes and done teeth to dash to school :o)
    5 min tidy each room
Washing out (or airer if rain doesn't give up)
    Make fish pie for tea

Look forward to getting to know you all and thanks for the motivation peeps :A
