What's our task for today?
I am going to wipe all my window surrounds with a bleachy cloth, they get REALLY yucky when the heating is on.
That sounds like a good task to me :T
I have been to Ikea and Matalan and have spent £60!!!! Oh dear! I got 2 big basket type things from Matalan for OH and my bedside cabinets to keep hidden things like books, handcream etc (all those things that accumulate there and make the room look messy). I got a thing from Ikea to hold the mail (incoming and outgoing), keys, notepad and pen, this will be on the wall by the phone in the hall so I can do away with the table I have there that just gets cluttered up! I got my dd her first duvet and pillow. I got some glass storage jars to keep the pasta, rice etc in in the kitchen cupboard so that will look nicer. A tray thing to hold all my herbs and spices.Oh...I meant to get a dish drainer to hold the pot lids in the cupboard... wish I had remembered that, never mind! Can't remember what else I got.
I haven't got a lot done in the house because I've been out shopping but it is not looking too bad. I'm making fish fingers, new potatoes and cauliflower cheese for dinner (nice and easy to prepare) I had better go get that started actually! What are you having?0 -
Spooky, spooky, spooky, I am off to IKEA on Friday and guess what I want to buy .... storage, storage, storageThat's Numberwang!0

Well i didnt make it to the farm so feel a bit guilty now!! Was feeling really ill after i got off here, ended up being sick and going back to bed_pale_!!_pale_ only morning sickness that seems to come back now and again still!! Lucky the girls have had a really lovely day playing with daddy so are happy..
The pie is in and cooking and with the left over pastry i have made some cheese puff kind of things, which dh can take to work tomorrow....
Im going to start my evening routine from tonight and hope it makes things easier - saying that i had planned to have dinner at half 5 so not of to a good start....... its nearly ready though so shouldnt be to much behind!!
Lalaladybird - i always forget something when i go to Ikea and end up with extras that i didnt plan for!! My kids love it at ikea and it takes us foreve as they have to stop at all the little play stations dotted around!!
Better go sort the dinner and get to the routine....will see how i get on.....GC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. No6 Due Mar 2013 My world.:j0 -

what if you dry it on the line outside, in summer?
This is slightly trickier but I manage by pegging jeans and trousers by the waistband, no one will see marks as a top will be hiding it. Tops I peg on a seam when the material is thicker or on the back of the neck. I have long hair so that hides a multitude of sins. I also put some on hangers and hold them on the line with those "hanger peg" things. Think I got them from Bettaware years ago but haven't seen them since. However, if there is a mark left I ask myself if I really care about it?
.
I figured I must have an art to it as when my MIL was trying to be helpful after me having DD, she pegged some washing out and she just stuck the pegs all over the place. When she brought it my heart sunk knowing I'd have to iron. So either I'm not gonna ask for help when baby is born or ask her to do the ironing as well, but knowing MIL she'll happily iron too, crazy woman!
Life is too short for ironing :beer:0 -
So, a new week is upon us, which means for me a new weekly to do list. I managed to do all of last weeks list, is there a smug icon? :rotfl:
This weeks to do list is.....
1. Paint 2 doors so OH can put then back up.
2. Sort through the magazine wicker box thingie which has god knows what else other than magazines
3. Sort out kitchen cupboard which hides all my electrical must have purchases. I've recently got a slow cooker and need a crow bar to get it in there so somethings gotta go.
Still on my longer term to do list is...
1. Get photo's printed up from the past 3.4 years and into photo albums. (I have a dispute with Snapfish so am not starting this one until sorted.)
2. Declutter the 8 drawer unit in the hall.
3. Ebay the few dozen or so things I have and keep on top of Ebaying as and when it surfaces.
4. Redecorate DD's new bedroom ready for new baby to go into her old one.
5. Keep nagging my husband plumber to install the downstairs toilet. Slightly more work involved than just installing a toilet but it has got to be done before baby arrives in 15 weeks!
Hope everyone has a lovely week making time for their little darlings0 -
I have a horrible feeling that I'm getting sidetracked from spending time with my little ones. I have tried really hard this weekend to get on top of the cleaning but also to spend time with the boys. We went on a wonderful wintery walk yesterday and played hide and seek in the woods. Then today I took DS1 to church which was really nice, it was a service that all the children from school had been invited to, and then this afternoon we ended up going round B&Q and Homebase looking at bathrooms  and of course we now have loads of appts this week for plumbers to give quotes, etc.
Anyway, this week I am going to make a plan for things to do with the kids after school, to make sure that I do actually do them
Monday - DS2 has invited his first playmate round for tea
Tuesday - working late, DS1 at tea time club, so I will try to let them loose on their bikes and run races with them before dinner
Wednesday - I finish work at 12 so will pick DS2 up from grandparents and take him and his bike down the park on the way home
Thursday - I finish at 1230 so will take DS2 to gymnastics (£1 a session, bargain!!) and then take both boys for a swim after school
Friday - yipee! I'm off to IKEA but I figure DS2 will like the play area and the hotdogs, and I'm not going to buy much :rotfl::rotfl:
And I can't wait for the weekend already. Am taking the boys bowling on Sunday morning, it's £1 a game if you get there before 930!!!!That's Numberwang!0 -
Hello all! :hello:
I'd like to join in, please! I'm a SAHM (and also a pt time WAHM doing aromatherapy massage and handmade soaps/ toiletries) to 3 children (11, 8.5 and just 3) with no 4 due in May.
We have a loft conversion starting a week tomorrow (eek!) which has meant the attic has been emptied this weekend and the stuff in there (mostly) sorted. SOme has gone to freecycle, some sorted in seasons for NCT sales and some sorted in sizes in labelled boxes for no3 and the pending no 4. We live in a large 4 bed house (soon to be 5 bed!) with 2 large lounges, a dining room and an office downstairs, as well as a large kitchen (size of a double garage) - and we fill it all! Hub says we have too much stuff!
Ironing: I cannot get away with ironing. I don't use the tumble drier that much from an environmental point of view - but even if I do stuff is creased (I am a bit of a perfectionist) I iron all bedding (can't beat the feeling of fresh crisp sheets and duvets), tea towels, pyjamas, vests etc. And DH is an HR manager -so lots of shirts! (non iron shirts lie!!) And then there's tablecloths/ placemats etc!!
Anyway, I thought I'd post my want-to-do this week list up, as an incentive:
Tomorrow:
Vaccum throughout house
Mealplan for week
clean downstairs loo
mop hallway
tidy DS2's room (he discovered lots of toys from the attic = big mess!)
list a couple of items on freecycle
tidy kitchen/ clean sides
Rest of week:
Antenatal appt at hosp (no idea why)
Playgroup duty
Check out bathroom suites for new bathroom in loft
Vacuum again at least once
Strip our bed/ turn mattress
Strip toddlers bed (I do 2 beds a week - can't keep up otherwise!)
Visit library
Bake some biscuits (and maybe muffins)
De-cobweb throughout house
Polish/ dust both lounges
Daily swish/ swipes
Clean main bathroom
Finish sorting the stuff from attic still in my room!
Usually a load of washing a day
keep ironing up together (have just got it manageable again after being ill over Xmas)
Maybe phone physio dept at hosp re SPD?
Bit of paper filing
Maybe sort some excess stock soaping items to list on yahoo groups for Fri 'carboot' day?
We shall see if I manage it!! :rotfl: :rotfl: I've always been one to aim on the high side!! :rotfl:

Well I haven't had a very productive day today as DH had to work so I've pretty much sat on the sofa all day and watched kids TV! Although I did cook myself and yummy macaroni cheese with bacon and leeks with enough leftover to eat when DH is working overnight on Friday!
My to-do list for next week is:
* keep on top of washing
* keep on top of washing up
* clean bathroom
* scrub carpet in living room
* bake rusks and fruit bars for DS
* walk dog every evening after Ds is in bed (exception of Friday coz DH isn't here)
* 1/2 hour Wii Fit every morning when DS is napping
* food shopping
* wash down paintwork
* get up with DH every morning and do his lunch
* cook meal for us every evening with extra for DH the next day where possible
* enquire at camp about the gym/classes etc.
My planned activities for next week are:
Monday - food shopping
Tuesday - playgroup
Wednesday - lower DS cotbed to next level before he learns to climb out!
Thursday - baby clinic get DS weighed
Friday -
Can't think of anything I need to do on Friday so I'll update later!
BTW, I am also a certified 'non-ironer'! The last time I picked up an iron was over 3 years ago when my DH asked me to iron his kit for work as he was in a rush, he then got b0ll0cked on parade because he had 2 sets of creases down the front of his trousers!! So now, DH is the official ironer in our house (he is so much better at it than me!) and if I ever need something ironing which isn't very often to be honest he does it for me!0
