  • Skylight....you are right, I suppose it is the equivalent of looking at airbrushed celebs in magazines and wondering why we can't look like them :rotfl:My mum always says that LOs won't remember if their pj's were ironed but they will remember that you read them a bedtime story! I just really want kitchen cupboards that don't throw pots out at me when I open them or having to spend 5 minutes searching for cinnamon

MorganB thank you for your lovely PM and hope you get the chance to put your feet up and watch episode after episode of the vicar of dibley!

I think the list of members on the opening post is up to date but please tell me if I have missed anyone off :o We are getting to be a lovely big group of SAHMs and a few welcome others too.

I am not even dressed yet  so here is my to do list today...

-get dressed and make up on
    -wash the breakfast things
    -make bed
    -general tidy round
-make tuna pasta bake for lunch mmm
    -vacuum
-order the tesco online shop (I got a voucher code for £7.50 off when I spend £50, but why are all the value options not available online I wonder )
-finally write my dd's thank you cards for her xmas pressies :o
-work out what storage containers/boxes/baskets I need to get from Ikea to make this place a bit more organised
    -that'll do for now!:D

  • A tip...Keep things in the room that you use them! I keep my make up bag in my bedroom but put in on in the bathroom! I keep cotton buds in my dd's changing table but never use them on her! It just occurred to me there are lots of these things I do so I am going to organise it so that things are in the appropriate place and if that means buying storage...fine:p

I had spd pain in pregnancy too, so I used to sit down on the couch and iron while watching tv! Do you have an ironing board you can lower and an extension cord so you can plug in the iron and have it reach the couch? Just a thought HTH x

I've got all my spices and herbs/ seasonings in a shallow tray (from poundland I think its for a4 paper really but.....) this really works for me as I can take the tray down use what I need and then put it back, whereas before I would I could never find what I was looking for, then would struggle trying to carry 10 different seasonings over, and probably drop 1 or 2 then have to fit them all back in the cupboard!

Thanks everyone, for making me feel welcome!
Making bread is going ok, mostly because I haven't bought any so we will go hungry if I don't make it. Cooking is also going ok.
Getting up, dressed and walking the dog has gone awry - its soooo cold I just want to stay in my fleecy jamas.
Have managed DS2s bedtime routine 6 days out of 7, but it hasn't made any difference to his sleeping yet. Have to persevere.
    To do list...
    washing mountain
    putting away mountain
    fix my wardrobe door
find a box to put wellies in, Im sick of dried mud on the floor
build the new dining room table I got in the littlewoods sale. (Hubby is not impressed cos weve got the matching furniture and it was a bu@@er to put up)
make more bread, it only seems to last ten seconds
    clean something, anything.
With Sparkles! :happylove And Shiny Things!

Thanks for the tip - sitting like that seems to hurt aswell!! Falling to bits i am!!lol. Done a little bit earlier and made sure i stoped after a few so i didnt push myself!! Have to kind of lean forward to stop the pressure on my pelvis!!

Done a few other bits this morning so feeling a bit more organised, dh is getting the bits for washing machine now so i will hopefully be able to do some washing soon.......

I also wish things didnt fall out onto me when i want a pan or something!! Or that i have to move everything to find one item i need!! :o

i've spend most day so far on cleaning and now i am playing a game with dd: she hums a song and i have to guess - the same 5 songs over and over
ds is watching oh playing on the xbox ... since 10am :wall: - at least they are both out of my way and i can get on with things :T

i really need to go back into planning the meals - every day i struggle what to do for dinner!!! - i think tonight we are having chops and hm chips and peas/carrots

i am trying to be better with my eating - i am eating out of boredom mostly and portioncontroll (when it tastes good i just eat it all up and don't listen to my tummy if it's full or not :o ) - so doing all this cleaning and playing with kids helps not to think of food! iykwim  - sitting at the pc helps too, keeps my fingers busy :D

i need to do another appliances round and that's me for today - i want a weekend too!

lalabird when will you go to ikea? i've told Oh already to prepare himself because we'll go on thursday - i also want storage boxes and loads of them :D

mummy2 i used to sit on the couch and do my ironing that way (back in the days when i did do ironing  )

skipsmum have you run out of things to clean? want my address? :rotfl:
