SAHM's getting organised in 2009!

I've took a different approach to things today. I did all today's cleaning yesterday so all that was left to do today was the dailies, and I'll do some declutering later in the week.
So, today as we had no playgroup, DD and I have done lots of stuff together. We've played with playdough, done some colouring with pencil crayons, done some sticky collages with sequins etc, baked, done some singing and dancing, read a million stories, played musical instruments, bathed the dollies in a washing up bowl on the bathroom floor, and had some great fun! Ok most days I may sit and do one or two of these things with her, but mainly she just plays on her own while I do other things (mostly read or go on the laptop I admit!) so today I made an effort to really focus on her, and I feel great from it. I've never been given so many cuddles from her!!!
So, every Wednesday is going to be like this from now on!!!:T0 -
Afternoon all....
Good to see how everyone is doing!
I've had a bit of a disjointed day as we had to be at the hospital for a follow up scan on the baby this morning. Why does hospital time move differently to the time you have at home? Appointment was for 10, lasted 10 minutes, and we still didn't get back until 11.30(hospital is a 20 min drive....)
Anyway, I still managed to get loads of things done - I've done the dailies, except the bread (I'll do that later). I've still got some tidying up to do in DDs room (still haven't quite done that extra hour in there), but once I've posted this I'll spend some time in there.
I've also dusted and swept the living room and hall, decluttered the floor, checked the smoke alarms/CO monitor and generally done quite well. Dinner is planned, should only take half an hour to cook (mince, vegetables and potatoes). Menu plan is looming, though, and I'm finally running out of meat in the freezer. Looks like Friday will involve rather a bit of food shopping!
I'm feeling pretty good right now, if a little tired. Motivation has been quite hard again - I'd rather have a straight run of a couple of hours, rather than fitting everything in around things. Will have some creative time to myself this evening - I'm knitting myself a cardigan, so will have an hour or so in front of the TV doing that.
Right, that's it, DDs room beckons!
Take care

Put a bowl of water in there with a slice of lemon or lime and switch it on for 2-3 minutes then wipe it out with the lemony steam. Clean micro and nice smelling kitchen....to be an OSer don't waste the lemon water and use it to wipe round the counters and cabinets:D

I like this one! I don't have a microwave!
So far I have done most of dailies (obv not my eve ones yet) I have done my daily walk- not so slippery today!I have also managed to scrub my kitchen including inside and fascia's of all appliences- still not managed to mop the floors though so might do this this eve if I have time.

[BHello - I just found this thread and have read it all the way through - So inspiring, I'd really like to join you and get my act together.
I've been a SAHM for a little over twelve years - I have 2 DSs 12 and 10 and then a DD who's 3 and I haven't really got myself re-organised after she was born!!
I have started menu planning more and have certain routines fitting around my DDs playgroup but I find myself 'catching up' at the weekend which is just no good. So my goal is to get everything done for Friday evening so weekend become family time again!
Wierdly, I also did my microwave this morning too - but without the lemon slice - that's a nice touch Lalaladybird.][/B]0 -
Evening All
Feel like I've not got much done today as I've only cleaned the bathroom. Am feeling really tired as not slept too great for the past couple of night so thought I'd catch up on some paperwork, made phone call to make balance transfer, arranged next returns, sent my cheapy parking permit form off to the hospital, and a few other things that have been hovering around for far too long. So not a bad mornings work after all.
Picked DD up from nursery and went round to Nanna's where we built a snowman :snow_grin and played up there for the afternoon. She was absolutely zonked when we got home and asked to go to bed straight after her tea at 5.30. Don't think I'll be too far behind her
.
Everyone keep up the good work :T0 -

Hi Fourcandles, have you seen that there is a depression support thread on here? I really feel for you as I have exactly the same conditions that you do, but no kids (sorry for posting on this thread, was just looking at different things and chanced upon it) and I can't keep my house tidy either! All my resources go into dealing with the necessities (getting up, eating, drinking, breathing, staying awake) without tidying up too! Good for you that you are going to sort things out, just remember to do it one step at a time or else you will get worn out and discouraged. Hope it goes well :T :T :T"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."
