I bought a diary and already its helping me loads.I get sidetracked with bed changing as one wets often and i forget who's been done, so this will help! just listing what needs to be done and what our plans our is great. I am now setting times to get things done and for pc time so i am more disiplined. For me i think a weekly plan will work best, so i am doing a meal planner, shop online, and days plan
    This was our plan today

    7am up washed dressed
7.30 2 kids up breakfast and lunch box making
8.00 washer/drier on and folding the dried overnight clothes
    8.30 school run
    8.45 child up,fed,washed,dressed
9.00 washing put away, beds made, dishwasher empty and filled, kitchen left tidy..runaround after dd who i'm potty training!
    10.00 do drawing with dd
    10.30 snack/coffee
    11.00 walk to feed ducks
11.30 make soup/play ball with dd
    12.00 lunch
    12.30 dd nap until 3.15- i watched loose woman/pc time/anwsered emails
then did quick clean of bathroom, more washing/drying
    3.15 school run
    3.45 prepared tea/tidy up school bits/hoover hall/stairs
    5.00 tea and pc time
6.30 kitchen tidy/sweep/laundry AGAIN (potty training!)
7.30 kids to bed in stages and tv/pc time
    9.00 ironing

quite detailed list but now i can see why i feel tired
also a lot more done than before and i feel much happier for it!

i now need to find time this week to do the big clean jobs - floors mainly

Wow! You've done loads!! Doesn't it feel good to get a handle on it?

I 'allowed' myself some time to play with DD today - just some colouring and playdough, but it's the first time in ages that I've felt able to relax and do something fun with her. Looks awful written down....

I have been a busy bunny today - did all my dailies, except fold the washing up (it's still on the airers)...Plus I've given the bathroom a good going over, cleaned the window, degunged the tiles (urk!) and given the paintwork a good scrub. It didn't even take that long - perhaps half an hour....so why have I been putting it off??

I've also done some housekeeping on the PC - a disk defrag and general tidy up of my files. My boot.ini file became corrupted on Saturday (don't ask me - OH sorted it out!!), which made me start thinking about what I've got on here and what (if anything) I really need to back up :o. All the good habits I had when I was in paid work have gone by the wayside.

And I've got ahead - just a load of washing, but I'm back on the school run tomorrow so every minute will count.

The best thing that's coming out of this is a sense of calmness - I know it's only been a couple of days, but the feeling of being out of my depth is beginning to ebb away. OH bought me a journal for Christmas, which at the time I thought 'how am I going to find the time to write in this every day?'. It's becoming obvious that I'm going to have some free time before I go to bed. Amazing.

Anyway, hope you all have a good evening.
    Take care
    D.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Have just added 2 things to my list of new systems
1 Basket in the hallway for school shoes / umbrellas / school bags / handbags, etc. Children instructed that it must all go in there!! Seems to be working so far
2 Cloth bag on DS1 and DS2s bedroom door, in an attempt to train them to put their dirty clothes in them! Should be easier for them to handle than their own laundry bin.
    That's Numberwang!

I've had one of these for a while know, think I pinched the idea from someone off this site  . It's actually a wooden box from ikea, but any of DD's hats, gloves, bags etc goes in there and we know exactly where things are when we're in a rush to get out of the door:D

Not done much so far today except get us up and ready and fed and some of dailies list, visited my great aunt, who is infirm so she was really pleased to see us! Her cat was really scratchy though so I got a sore leg now! Owiie!
I have got DD ready and in bed, done a quick tidy round kitchen/ living room etc. I am going to spend the next hour doing housework n I want to do:

Washing folded, wet washing hung- new load in,
Clean sides and sink in kitchen,
Scrub DD high chair, (how do they get sooooo dirty in a day- it looks like I haven't cleaned it in a year and it's already been wiped down after breakfast???)
If I have any time I will empty and reload dishwasher though it's been done once already today!

Well done everyone, you all seem to be doing great!! I feel like I'm slacking already! It is helping to write on here though, it makes you think of all the small things you do without thinking in a day (playing with kids, wiping sides after cooking, making dinner etc...) and makes you seem as if you have acheived something! :)

    Morning All!! :waves:

It's so good to hear how much progress everyone is making, you are inspiring me to want to do even more!:T

My change for this week was getting up before Jasmine, not really worked as she hears DH get up at 0630 so wants to be up then, but I've been getting up soon after. It's not as difficult as I imagined, I don't really have a choice about it when DH is leaving for work and DD is up! Going to get showered in a minute then he'll be leaving soon afterwards.

I'm proud to say my kitchen was kept clean and tidy all day yesterday, I washed up in bits throughout the day and kept the sides tidy and wiped over. Going to do same today although we are out from the morning so should be easy enough. I'm going to get some potatoes washed before we go so we've got an easy lunch of jacket potatoes to come back to at 12!

Anyway gonna jump in the shower now :-)
    Have a great day everyone!
  • Good morning all!

I am keeping up with my routines but I think I need to be doing more so I will revise my daily "must do's" later.

I was just thinking it might be a good idea to highlight any tips we are passing on to each other in red so we can look back and find them easily. Does this sound like a good idea?

I feel like I need to get my dd into more of a routine where I dictate the pace....I think she thinks that she is in charge :rotfl:I have a rather bossy 1 year old

Today lets all sort out all the magazines and newspapers in our houses.....be ruthless and throw them away, if you haven't read it in a month you are unlikely to ever read it and it is just clutter :p

well today is the day!!! i actually did start yesrerday but hey i have a head start on myself.
have managed to clean both living room arrange toys, move playpen into little room, keep them tidy, put a few loads of washing on, have kids organised and off to school/nursery and take something out for dinner.

so today plans are clean dining room, hoover wash floors.
get more washing done, dried, ironed
make lunch put DS2 down for a nap
lie on seatee for an hour while DS naps (have bad SPD and due in 6 weeks lol!)
take a load of rubbish to the dump
    hoover and clean downstairs floors
    clean downstairs bathroom
keep up to date with dishes(not easy with 6 of us!)
    make dinner

hopefully if i can get this all done then anything extra is a bonus!!!
good luck to everyone else starting today :D

My 1 year old is bossy too, I think its a girl thing, and I don't think it's a phase that will pass either! I can see her still bossing me about when she's 5, 10 or 15! She's very into saying "not like" this and "not like" that all the time. Thankfully though she is keen to join in things like tidying toys away into the basket, and espeically likes wiping the cupboard doors down and sweeping the kitchen floor.
Only thing I can't get one when she is around is mopping cos of the slippiness and hoovering because she's afraid of the hoover. I'm trying to get her used to the hoover though, so DH used to take her out for a walk while I did it but now he sits and reads with her, but stays in the house.

DS is 2 and hates the hoover - doesn't like really loud noises. The paper shredder sends him into a panic if he just SEES it, much less if I use the thing! Needless to say, our paperwork is piling up and piling up - I actually have to have DH take him out for an afternoon so that I can get a bunch of shredding done.

I'm starting tomorrow on getting up earlier. DH goes back to work tonight, so I will be on a more normal day tomorrow. When DH is home and awake during the day, some schedules seem to just go flying out the window!
