Good afternoon!
Twas -4.5 degrees when I came home from work this morning, blooming cold! Garden looks really pretty though with it's white frosting!
Got to pop into town and return a game that ds got for his birthday that doesn't work! His dad now thinks all second hand games are rubbish, ds and I were quick to disabuse him of this idea, they are sooooo much cheaper, and even new games can have faults! Will also be popping into Milletts, as apparently they have wind up lanterns in their sale (thanks Oystercatcher!), and not only can you never have enough when camping with four kids, they are great in the event of power cuts, and we have lots of those out here in the middle of nowhere!
Picked up loads of mince last night at work, reduced to about 70p, and huge pots of cream at 40p, also some cottage cheese for 17p (cos I fancy something light for a change at the mo), and coleslaw for 5p. Lots of turkeys were reduced, the fresh ones, by about a third, and some other bits, but nothing really exciting! Will take some veg out of the freezer so that I can fit the mince inside, think the cream is frozen anyway, left it in the car overnight! But will make some space for that as well, might make some butter with some of it, it'll keep dd3 and her little pals amused, got 6 of them playing on the wii fit at the mo!
Not much os going on today other than the usual bread making, yoghurt making, washing and swishing and swiping. Dinner is as yet undecided, but will probably be something with mince lol! Got a nice piece of beef for tomorrow's dinner sitting ready in the fridge.
ds and I think dd1 are off to a party down the road, I shall be going to another party in the village, dd2 is off to the pub with her friend and her parents, and dd3 is overnighting with a pal in the street. So a good night shall be had by all!
Off for a browse and catch up now, I hope everyone has a good day, and enjoys welcoming in the new year, and all best wishes for all of us for a happy one! xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Been out with the dog, hung the washing and stripped our bed, so feel as though I've had a productive morning.
Halight and Jorgan - I hope that it's not long before you find other jobs, it's not nice to hear that so many people are out of work, especially just now.
Going to a ceilidh tonight with my mum to see the New Year in. My Dad's working nightshift and DH is stewarding, so neither of them will be about. So rather than sit in and complain about the rubbish on TV, we'll be the rubbish on TV  - the ceilidh's being broadcast live on BBC Alba (Sky 168)~ it's the new Gaelic tv Channel. It'll be something different :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I'm about to head into the shops to see if there's any last minute bargains for the freezer.
It's macaroni cheese and beans for tea tonight, by DH's request!
Enjoy the rest of the day0 -
Afternoon all, and a Happy 2009 to all.
Tru, your hot sauce collection is incomplete. You don’t appear to have any Wow-Wow Sauce. For details of how to make it, see http://wiki.lspace.org/wiki/Wow-Wow_Sauce I wouldn’t want you to miss out! *Wonders if Sybil has tried it….*
Sunnyday, wow, eleven dogs all running round together! Fantastic. I always think it does our canine friends good to socialise with their own kind when possible.
We will be staying in tonight. Personally I can't really be bothered at all, but Mr LW will want to see in the New Year, so we have a for now, but with any luck I'll get him to take them down tomorrow.
He also announced last night that he was finishing w*rk at 15:00 today, not doing a full day as we'd thought, so I think we'll have a quick foray to Mr M's for a few bits. First time I'll have been shopping since before Xmas.:T
We also have the Farmers Market to go to on Sunday - thank goodness, as I've just started on our last block of cheese. I buy a month's supply at a time, as the cheese there is so nice, and all made with veggie rennet.
Well, onwards and upwards I guess. Let's hope the coming year is kinder to those who've had troubles of one sort or another. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Afternoon all,
Well the whole household slept in until 11.30including the dog, i have not done that since I was a teenager, and that was many moons ago
, still we must have needed it, we have been chasing our tails ever since, dw is on, wm has been on and wash is on the line. Hoovered through and mopped floors, bathroom has had a lick and a promise.
Off out now with little dog for a nice walk, and to get dd's train ticket for next term, ouch, thats going to cost me.
Buffet style tea tonight, to use all the bits left over, hopefully we will start to get back to some sort of routine next week.
Tilli, hello and welcome
Hope tilly cat is ok xx
Will pop back later, but Happy new year to one and all :T
Have good days all xx0 -
Happy New Year everyone and thank you for all of the advice and inspiration that you have given me during 2008.
I know I haven't been on much recently due to moving house and everything but one of my New Years Resolutions is to keep up on here more as the more I read about OS the more I do to become more OS.
I feel really positive about 2009 and hope that it is the year that I manage to take control of everything and become the ultimate OS Domestic Goddess.
I am armed with 3 new notebooks - One for meal plans and foody stuff, one for jobs that I need to do around the house and the third just becuse it looks pretty and I know I will find a good use for it. I might even use it as some sort of spending diary if I join the Grocery Challenge!
I have been poorly since christmas day with that dreaded flu and am just starting to feel a bit more human, good job as I always try and start the New Year as I mean to go on by making sure that my house is super super tidy, which is quite exhausting to do when you are ill and trying to occupy 2 hyper kids. So far, I have done 2 loads of washing, cleaned the kitchen and tidied up downstairs... I still need to:- Hoover downstairs
- Hoover upstairs
- Help the kids tidy their rooms (major job)
- Tidy our bedroom
- Have a quick tidy of the bathrooms
My new neighbours must think I am mad as people keep knocking at the door and taking stuff away with them.
Jambalaya for tea....Yummy
Right off to get on with my jobs
Happy New Year0 -

DH will go mental when he gets in and sees i've lifted the TD on top of the WM (half size TD) in my condition .
Still, all done now, tree's have been despatched to the garden, decs upstairs. So FR back to normality or so i thought until i went to make hot choc and came back to kids toys ALL OVER arggggggh. Still can't expect em to sit still on the sofa or can i .
Flaked out at 12.30 feeling really rough again:mad:. had a lempsip which helped and filled a hot water bottle.
Curry simmering nicely smells delish.
OOOH Jambalaya haven't had that for ages.
The frost not left us at all today. Looks lovely tho....
Bin area looks a total dissater zone but luckily it's hid behind the shed and around the corner, out of sight out of mind
Right off to whip the kids into shape

Weight loss challenge. At target weight.0 -
Just popped in to see what everyone is up to. All birdies fed and watered and have even put new seed feeders up - which were promptly mobbed by the blue tits....... Walked into Urmston centre today and got some ham and bits and bobs - very cold (not above freezing here and will be -5 tonight). Went into the pet shop for some fat balls and a little boy was having a budgie bought him! He was taking it all very seriously....
Sad to see Woolies closed up with a sign saying fixtures and fittings for sale..... shame... I've been going in there for, well, all my life. Will feel strange not having it on the high street. I wonder who will be next?
Mr Rage is doing the fridges and the custard is on the trifle. Also managed to do a few letters today as well (not bad as I was only popping on to see if my cheque has been sent from them yet).
Chicken has been put back until tomorrow - Mr Rage thought we were having beef stew again tonight and chicken tomorrow. When I told him that the beef stew remains were in the freezer - and pointed out to him that I have already told him this  - he offered to stump up for a chinese takeaway tonight :j Hurrahs all 'round. Last blow out as well for some considerable time as we will see what his return to work brings in the way of the new game for 2009 "Job or No Job" - perhaps Noel Edmonds can give out P45s......:rotfl: I don't see it being a ratings winner.... Ah well, in the words of the Gallagher Brothers "you've got to roll with it"......
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0
