Good Morning All
Freezing here this morning, probably nothing to you Northerners but very cold for us.
Im with you Tru I hate New Years Eve parties, I dont think when we used to go out we ever had a good time. To be truthful I will probably be in bed by 10 - god I sound such a misery :rotfl:
Am about to jump in the shower in a bit then will clean the kitchen, ironing will be next. I have promised to take the kids to town for lunch at our favourite cafe. I will check see what is left in Marks and then see if there is any bargains in Iceland.
Did the freezer inventory yesterday and there is quite a lot in there. Am at mils tomorrow so will menu plan Friday for next week.
Off to finish my tea and have a surf, have a brilliant time this evening whatever you are doing.

Welcome Tilli-Tot - you will enjoy it here but it is very addictive
.
Plans for today include taking DS and his girlfriend to the railway station. |They are off to London for New Year to see it in with friends and then they are heading back up north tomorrow. DD went back north a few days ago and today youngest DSS goes back to his mum's. It will be a quiet house with me, DH and the 2 dogs. Not sure how I feel about this. It will be too quiet methinks.
I have beds to wash today and the food supplies to sort out. We had lasagne last night and there are left overs so that is teas sorted for today. I also have loads of bits to make some adventurous left over dishes.
We're staying in tonight. Hope you all wrap up warmly as it is cold.
All the very best to you all for a happy and peaceful new year.

Morning all,
another one here wondering where on earth the time has gone.... Went for a walk along the seafront yesterday morning as it was such a beautiful day, and although a bit cloudier this morning I may make a flask of tea & get out there again today.
'm with you Tru & EssexGirl - although I'll just be chilling at home I'll probably still be awake as my 15 year old (and maybe my 12 year old) will want me to see the New Year in with them. But it's really not a big deal for me - I prefer Christmas, lol! My oldest is off out partying at a friend's house though.
Halight, great post - I was having a conversation with some friends last night & we all feel like this year is going to bring big changes for us (well it is, we qualify from Uni in June)...
Pink, I hope Tilly is recovering well.
N9eav, hope it proves to be a quiet one for you at work.
Crazychik, lovely to "see" you - come back again soon
Making carrot soup for lunch today, not sure about supper - I may nip to our local small Mr T's in a bit to get a few nibbly bits for this evening. Tomorrow we are having lasagne as my DD's said they're bored of roasts now (but they've had one here, one with their father, one with the outlaw grandparents, and so on...). And I'm quite happy with that too.
Have a great New Year though everyone, and thank you all for being my OS friends this past year - you are a lovely bunch of people and I wish you all the very best for 2009, and the ability to get through, no matter what life chucks at you.....
xxLive your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -

Hi All, and a Very Happy New Year to all on this forum,Ive dipped in and out many times and feel its the best forum on the site for cheerful decent people. My wife is working today 12-6 and tommorrow 11-5 so no peace for the wicked,Im not back till Monday so will have to find something to do today, even if its to stop the guilt feelings of being at home lol. Just put the rubbish out,and the re-cycling looks like a war zone lol, was interested in what people can recycle - it seems every council is different. We have wheelie bin for rubbish(collected once fortnight) and green wheelie for garden rubbish, with recycled bits and bobs every two weeks in a red small box.
Weather Check: Well its bloomin cold here in Shropshire and quite foggy, hope sun shines thru soon, best wishes to all this New Years Eve -
Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. :beer:0
