OS Daily New Years Eve 2008

Morning, Had a horrible nights sleep so feeling a bit under the weather this morning. Doesn't help that the 2 year old and 4 year old were bouncing at 7. Thankgod for inlaws though who have taken them away.
Trying to make stovies at the moment but I think they are going to be a disaster - they are kind of a mish mash with ham and sausages so no idea how they are going to turn out. Decided to make them from stuff in the freezer only to discover the sausages were off so despatched my mum to Mr T's to get some  Annoyed with myself as I was trying not to spend any money today. Then realised I was out of olive oil so more money spent.
My house looks as though it has been ransacked at the moment so need to get my finger out and clean up. Out to friends tonight (hence making the stovies for them). Hope everyone has a good daySo little money - so much time :mad:0 -
Morning all
Welcome Tilli.
Nice to see you Crazychick.
We're staying in tonight & will also probably be asleep before midnight.
We had a visit from Katy yesterday, she is very positive about her new job so fingers crossed for her.
DD & DGS also popped over, fortunately hubby had the sofa back together by then, he was turning the air blue & I know DGS would have remonstrated with him, lol.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning, all. Hope everyone is well this faintly misty day. Off into town in a little while to catch some last minute bargains of 2008, and get some beauty stuff while it's possibly on cheap.
I use those Daily Facial thingies, and need to stock up where they're going to be cheaper, even if I now cut them in half to make them last longer! I've taken the Christmas cards down now, ready to take all of the decorations down when we get the chance, and a box of stuff for next year is in the making. It'll be good.
Getting quite nervous about tonight, as I want next year to be brilliant. We're out at a friend's house, so it should be nice, but I always get stressy if I can't rest when I get tired and can't go to bed. Gah. Here's hoping tonight goes well.
Not much else on the cards today apart from my tradition of a New Years' Eve bath to wash away the old year. Here's to 2009 being better than we expect and that something randomly wonderful happens for all of us.
(((hugs))) to those in need (and because I kinda want one myself) and have a great day, everyone.

Hello everybody :santa2:
Sunnygirl - hope you enjoy the snow - it's not Chill Factor by any chance is it? Not far from where I live and we've been meaning to go since it opened. Let me know what it's like.
Tilli-tot- welcome to the land of the optimistic, the place where a chicken can feed a family of four for a week (nearly) and the national collective of bargain hunters
Essex Girl - We will probably be in bed early as well except I will be woken up at some ungodly hour when the in-laws will ring and drunkenly wish us happy new year (probably around 2 a.m. ) Mind you, the amount of fireworks let off here at New Year is always a re-enactment of the blitz noise-wise....
halight - blimey you've been busy! Debt free is the main thing so well done you!
and hugs to all.
Well, last night was a lovely beef stew which I made loads of so the remains will be being portioned up and put in the freezer. The trifle for tomorrow is part done and I will be asking Mr Rage to clean the fridges today (I still can't put any weight on my knee). Lunch for us will be soup and then tonight it is a roast chicken dinner with a M&S pudding from the freezer with the 37p cream I got from Asda yesterday. It's very fopggy here - I can just about make out the other side of the road and freezing. Right off to feed the birds now. I hope everyone has a nice peaceful new year and here's to prosperity for all! Cheers! But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -

Morning everyone!
I hope everyone is prepared for 2009, whatever you're up to, going out, staying in, partying or just having a quiet one?
It's been a bit of a lazy one for me so far - DH is working an 8 - 4 shift today, so was up at 6.30. I fell back asleep after he left.....
Have washed two loads and they're ready to hang out, the poor dog is champing at the bit to get out for her walk, so best be off with her.
Happy Hogmanay everyone!0 -
Hi All,
Can't believe it's the end of 2008. This time last year I was 9 months pregnant with my little boy, and had him exactly 1 week after New Years day. It was a lovely way to start the New Year, and I finished it on a similarly high note, but getting married on the 27th December :j I'm not sure how this year is going to compete, but I'm certainly hoping it will be just as good.
On the OS front I'm just going to start the cleaning and tidying once I've got the little one down for a sleep (might be a bit tricky as he seems full of beans). I'm going to blitz the whole house, do all the washing/drying and ironing, and find homes for the lovely bits we bought on our honeymoon in York. I'm also waiting for a lovely lady from Freecycle to deliver me a video player for FIL's birthday tomorrow.
We won't be going out tonight, but may go to the Pizza Hut for lunch, as we got some vouchers for Christmas. We'll probably watch Jools Holland tonight and drink one of the bottles of Champagne we got as a wedding present.
Hope everyone has a wonderful New Years Eve :beer:Debts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £12000 -
Morning everyone,my it's cold here.
I'm a bit tearful today, for some reason New Year always does that to me.
I'm looking forward to a quiet evening after having been away for Christmas,I always like to be at home for New Year.
What I'd like to know is where 2008 went,It seems to have come and gone in a flash.
Just want to wish everyone a happy and peaceful(as well as prosperous) New Year.
Take care everyone xxx.0 -
I'm at work until 12.30 today but have finished everything I have so I'm just playing on the PC.
I'm having an early night tonight as I've been a bit poorly this year and I've decided I want to give myself the best chance of starting things off well next year and a hangover probably isn't the best start. Intend to have a couple of glasses of wine, watch the soaps and have an early night.
Happy 2009 everyone!0
