I heard Jessops where in trouble earlier in 2008. Practically no slrs or lenses on display in the Derry store this afternoon."Food has replaced sex in my life. Now, even I can't get into my own pants."0

Clintons in trouble? I just got back from Town to see a card shop with 'closing down' signs in the window. It's right next to Woolworths and the otherside of that is a closed down dry cleaners. If Clintons goes too I'd guess there would be at least 10 empty units on our high street.0

Not sure if it is connected ( and didn't read the details!) however in Clinton cards Bluewater, there was a sign. It was regarding the administration of Zaavi.
Are they connected?!Always on the hunt for a bargain.0 -

We are quite a small town, and if our Clinton's closes that would make 12 empty shops in a town centre that is less than one square mile. We still have a big-ish Morrison's and a Lidl, but we have lost Woolworths and a few Estate Agents, as well as a few independent stores. Of big name stores, we have:
Boots
Superdrug
WH Smiths
Next
Clinton's
Morrison's
Lidl
Tesco
Clarks
All the rest are private shops, and most of those are struggling. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
I'll have to start looking for a new place to purchase all my cards from if it's likely that Clintons are going down. In my opinion, no other place does cards like Clintons, their 'a la mode' range of cards, although a bit pricey, looks so professional. No offence to Tescos or Asdas, but cards from those places looks so tackySeptember £5 a Day Challenge

Could it have been a Card Factory or Card Warehouse with the closing down signs? One has just bought out the other (sorry, can't remember which way round it was).egyptiangirl wrote:Not sure if it is connected ( and didn't read the details!) however in Clinton cards Bluewater, there was a sign. Don't Clintons have those stands of giftcards for lot of other highstreet shops? Maybe they used to do Zavvi ones and were making a point about not giving refunds on them or something..0 -

I just wondered what evidence there was that they were in trouble ?
Smiths are fine imo,0 -
