  • From bits I have picked up Debenhans have been weak ever since venture capitalists took them over a few years ago. They have a lot of debt similar to what happened with Man U. I imagine refinancing the debt if needed would be a lot harder these days.

    It is a worrying situation on the high street, yesterday a number of shops in the shopping centre where i work were visited by baliffs.. this included big named shops.

    It's cash flow that usually stops trading, rather than lack of profit. It doesn't take long of low spending by customers to hit cash flow.

    sorry i really don't know whats going on and what shops are going under but is next safe?? we got over 150 in next vouchers over Xmas and were not sure what to get with them.Should we be spending them asap?

    Yep, that's the idea...the banks pull the plug before a large chunk of money can be paid to the landlords.

    FWIW I went to PCworld yesterday (to buy a pre-booked bargain) and I'm suprised to say it was HEAVING and there were loads of orders on the [EMAIL="collect@home"]collect@home[/EMAIL] shelves.
