  • I would never buy vouchers from any company. The best 'vouchers' are pieces of paper issued by Bank of England with £ symbols on them. They can be used anywhere, any place and have no expiry.

    Totally agree with you mate

...I've learnt my lesson having being stung heavily by the Zavvi fiasco.
  • Are WHSmith actually in trouble ? Last lot of results they published (in November) showed that they were bucking the trend and not doing too bad. Also - they were moving away from CDs / DVD sales and back to the magazine / stationery side of things

I just wondered what evidence there was that they were in trouble ?

I hope they are OK, I have £40 worth of gift vouchers to use there - one from last Christmas:eek:
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

Hopefully, this whole fiasco with Zavvi will make people see sense and stop buying vouchers. They have always been a bit of a con, and people are waking up to that fact, maybe it will even lead to the death of the gift voucher as a concept, we can only hope :)
