It's been a while since I've posted properly - been around though doing pigsback and making lots of christmassy bits.
We've now started getting fruit at work but for the next week, there's far too much and people are being encouraged to take loads home.
There's apples, bananas, plums, pears and satsumas. What can I make and maybe take back into work for people to eat? Or any other suggestions welcome.
Not too much effort though, cos I'm a bit short of time this weekLove MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
Stewed fruit for crumbles.
Stewed fruit with ice cream
If you have a juicer/ blender whizz it all up for a healthy drink?Lydia

You could make a banana loaf
165g sugar
150g self raising flour
3 ripe bananas
Mix ingridients together
pour into a loaf tin
180c for 30 minutes
Tastes great and no fat.
I would also juice apple and pears. Together they tast great. When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile0 -
I love a good fresh fruit salad, especially with the variety of fruit you have there. Chopped all neat and small, looks very tempting. Serve with sorbet, or just on its own.
If its for yourself, what about serving it with weet-a-bix or meusli with natural yoghurtHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Thanks, crumbles sound good,
I can use the apples and plums for these. Am I safe to assume I can then freeze them for using up later?
Now for the daft question, how do I stew them?Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
stewing fruit is simply
cut into small chunks
put in pan
sling in some sugar
low heat for a bit until they look right
Im from the "just try this" school of cookery - works out well usually, its not an exactl science, its an Art:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Hi, there! Smoothies spring to mind - blend 1 peeled and cored pear, 2 peeled kiwis and a small tub of yogurt. That's enough for 2 of my children.
Alternatively, Chipps's cobbler.

We always get kiwi's left, as my children don't eat them - strangely they will eat them in a crumble though! You could make a tropical crumble with kiwi, mango and banana - not nearly as disgusting as it sounds:D .
