...and along those lines, the headlights can be Xenon which is good when they work but £100 each headlight just to replace just the bulb let alone fit it too. It's just a sporty Golf to me (same chassis & engine, different body!) so i'll never be tempted myself...
We had to replace a headlight bulb in a new Lexus, xenon bulb, special screw in fitting, only place to get it from was Lexus. Once the VAT was on, the bulb cost over two hundred pounds - for a bulb!!!! We didn't charge to fit it - didn't take long. Imagine if they both went at once, the cost!!!! The car was just over a year old!

So glad of my boring car at times like that!

Technically should have been replaced FOC under warrenty then because Xenons shouldn't go in 10years, let alone 1

  • Really. So you're forming your opinions on hearsay then. You've never owned one, and have not the slightest clue about their reliability.

I suspect your mates sold them because they couldn't afford to run them. Hardly surprising, since they're hand-built high performance sports cars, and not factory-built shopping trollies. Your mates probably bought wedges, which is like comparing a MK4 Ford Escort to a MK1 Ford Focus.

I suspect your 'whole motoring world' extends no further than the entertainment-influenced rantings of Jeremy Clarkson.

you think what ever makes you happy :D
remember it is nice to be important
but more important to be nice ;)

  • My two pence worth...

I've seen three different TTs broken down at the side of the road in the last two days as well as one of those new Audi supercars with the schoopid LED headlights.

led headlights (not just sidelights) are the next thing to arrive on all cars. no more xenons,it will be sealed led units.
    they work very well.

A single LED can put out clearer and brighter light than most halogen bulbs now! Cree 5 etc is the way forward ;)
