DWP employment waiting list
Comments

I recieved my phone call yesterday and the person that called me was one of the people that interviewed me (a grade higher in this case an EO). They called me on the landline number and emailed me the confirmation letter. They said HR has a lot of work going on in Newcastle so if I dont get the letter before the start date just bring in my email confirmation.0

This bothers me - I gave my home phone number but what if I'm not in (quite likely)? If there's no answer do they simply ring the next person up who is on the waiting list?
I'm that worried I have not five minutes ago gone and reconnected the answerphone and recorded a message!0 -
My references were contacted a month ago and they did other checks after the reference checks I know this because after a week or two I phoned them and they told me the checks had just been completed....then three weeks later I recieved my call. Some people get the call quickly and some late like myself so dont worry give them a few weeks..0

4 weeks? How so quick? Will your CRB and checks all be done by then? Takes 20 working days to do all the checks! and bout 2 weeks for CRB I presume but it all fluctuates and depends on circumstances!
I got my success letter last week and waiting for checks to be done on 1 AO post and waiting to hear from another AO post.
I have sent my CRB off for a BDO post which Disclose Scotland have received last Saturday and I confirmed this with them through e-mail!!
Finally things are moving forward after months of waiting!!!
Good luck to everyone else and hope everything speeds up for everyone!!!0 -
Hi Everyone, I thought I'd give you a flavour of my story. I went for an EO position in Jan and got the' successful letter dependent on pre- recruitment checks' I got a letter yesterday stating I'd been successful, so that's four months later. So, hang in there if you can. I turned them down as I've already started another job, but hey!
Bring back the local district recruitment I say.
Good luck all0 -

I was told 3 weeks for crb check to come back then if my other checks have been ok I'd be offered a start date - so I called it 4 weeks, maybe I'm a bit optimisitic here - but from sounds of things from talking to contact as soon as checks are complete I'll be offered a position.
GL on your process btw - nice to see things moving forward, I'll keep any eye out for your updates!whinge intr.v. whinged, whing·ing, whing·es Chiefly British To complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner.0 -

Lol okay cheers - thanks for your info on your application and keep us posted if any changes happen!
I should get my CRB by end of next week then just wait for start date ! - i want to be working by June/July - then it would have been a 6 month process for me!0 -

3 months from success letter to job offer - wow I hope this is an exception to the norm! :rolleyes:whinge intr.v. whinged, whing·ing, whing·es Chiefly British To complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner.0 -
Hi all though I would update my process so far..
This is Essex region BTW...
30-March...sent back CRB disclosure
28 April.. rang DWP and was told that CRB was sent for checks approx 14 Apr and I should wait 20 working days from there...
19-May - Rang DWP again... they say CRB checks are still pending! So I'm inclined to believe that there is a backlog of sorts at disclosure scotland.
(Sidenote: I had a standard CRB check sent away 2 weeks ago and I received that back in the post yesterday so there was no backlog there!)
The lady I spoke to at Newcastle yesterday told me they cannot give out my interview score but told me I am 54th on the merit list... I don't know if anyone in the area from my recruitment has been taken on yet but I doubt it as most of the CRBs would have been sent in bulk.
So I am still just as uncertain, but hopeful, as I was before...
It is good to see that some people on here are getting their start dates etc.. It is just a waiting game for me from now on as I am assured over and over that Newcastle will call me if they need anything.0
