Hello there, Let me share this past weeks events with you and I really hope it ll be helpful. Ihave applied for an AO position on the 5th of March and for an EO position on the 18th of March.I received a waiting list letter for the AO, I phoned and found out I was 89 out of the 90 who would be offered jobs (this type of waiting list), and I got a successful letter for the EO. I called Newcastle, naturally, and Ive been told there's no waiting list for the EO so I was successful. For the EO they used the paperwork I had filled in on the 5th of March so I didnt have to fill in them twice. My CRB certificate came 3 weeks ago, they received it on the 5th of May, and on Tuesday they called me from Newcastle to inform me that all my checks have been cleared and successful. Then Wednesday, nothing. Then Thursday, they called me from jobcentre asking me exactly this:"Have you heard anything from Newcastle concerning whether your checks have been cleared?" I thought right , these departments due to over workload are not able to run smoothly. Then the same day they contacted my referees with a quick mail only to confirm the dates of my employment. Then yesterday at 9 I received this phonecall:"Would you like to start for the EO on the 26th of May?". Ihonestly have to say this; I was always so happy to hear about others being offered the starting date I thought it wouldnt happen to me!It a very rewarding moment I hope all the best to everyone! Then I went to jobcentre, signed off and was given a funding for clothing for my new job. Thats fantastic and I am really telling you, once you start, the worrying becomes a memory.
    All the best!

Hey, I applied for a position at the end of march, had my selection tests on the 4th of April. They immediately informed those of us who had been successful and gave us a date for our interview. I took the interview on the 18th of April filling in CRB forms etc and on the 24th of April received a letter saying I'd been successful and pre recruitment checks were being undertaken. Since then I haven't heard anything though I take it from this thread that I should be expecting to wait another week or two minimum before I start to worry?

My only real concerns are that since my initial application I have began a new part time job but not informed the dwp and looking back I was a month or so out with when i began one of my jobs a few years back. I'm just hoping they don't pick up on this or that they're not so super strict that it effects my application. They do call you if they have any concerns along those lines i hope?

This is for the Marches district EO position in case anyone was wondering about timescales in this area.

Hi - I also applied for the EO position in the Marches District - I know one person started 3 weeks ago, and I start next week, but they have only just started offering out the jobs from the top of the list. Do you know what number you are on the list? I was told they had a list of 80 and 50 jobs over the next few months. Which JCP did you put on your list?

    Hope this helps.

Well i feel a lot better now. I shall eagerly await 'the call' and let you know when i get it. Fingers crossed! I know it's a long shot, but do you have any idea about how many phone calls they get through a day/or week?...trying to mentally work out when i may get the call..im 50 below you, and it's been a week since you got your call..hmm

Not sure- but they must be getting through the list fairly quickly to get to me so quick! But there are alot of JCP offices in the area, which means more positions. All I can say is that the lady was very busy and she wanted an answer off me there and then, as if I didn't want the post she was offering to the next person on the list.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Got a reply re the HEO jobs. It was in a thin envelope......lol.

A large part of me is glad. I'm drained by all this and I doubt I could give a convincing presentation. Now, I am just hanging on waiting for the checks for the EO post to be done.

Sorry you 2 didn't get through - although I'm probably just prolonging the agony.
I'm finding it difficult to think of better examples for my competencies and the presentation (without any projector etc) is just more stress. Suppose I should be happy I've got an interview. :p

    Hi again!

Just wanted to check, is there any way of knowing if your CRB has been sent off? I filled mine in during the assessment day but want to make sure it has gone. Are we able to track them at all?

    Thanks x
