If you've passed the literacy and numeracy tests, no need to take them again. The letter with proof of the scores is enough to go through to interview. You can apply for Liverpool openly, as you can for any number of vacancies, and accept whichever job you pass and get posted for.
Heck of a commute from Liverpool to Coventry. By the time you've paid the travelling costs, will there be anything left of your salary?:idea:0 -
exactly - i need to get the liverpool job - isnt the fact that i have a job offer from coventry though proof enough that i have passed the assessments?0

I have been reading this thread for a couple of weeks now and have found it interesting and informative.
I applied for an A/O position in London (central district) and passed the lit/num tests and had my interview on April 25th. One week later I received the you have been successful letter with no mention of a waiting list. This week I have found out the DWP have contacted my referees for references, in previous posts it's been mentioned they only contact referees once your CRB is back or they don't contact your referees but HMRC instead.
I have yet to hear anything from DWP, do you think this means they have received my CRB in Newcastle or have they decided to complete all the other checks while they wait for your CRB to be returned to speed the process up?0 -

Hi there!
I have been advised by the Recruitment Dept at Newcastle that they only follow up your refs once they have recd your CRB back. This came about because I progress chased them about four weeks ago and was told my CRB had been mislaid ( despite me sending specifically to an individual) Once they had recd a faxed copy of my CRB the ref checks were completed the following day via HM Inland Revenue - so in my case it was a very quick turn around and I now have my start date!
hope this helps!!!
PS, No checks were completed whilst they were waiting for my CRB. This came in the post to my home address in a plain brown envelope a week after my offer letter. Had it not been for a previous poster on this site commenting he had recd his and then sent it to Newcastle i would not have known this as I'd ( incorrectly) asumed I'd need to keep this on my personal file at home as my ex follows this process for her checks as a primary school teacher!
So if anybody receives theirs at their home address my advise would be
1. Take a couple of copies
2. Post the original in to the Newcastle Office by recorded/guaranteed delivery0 -
Has anyone had an interview for an HEO position.
If so do you have any advice on the presentation that you have to give at the beginning of the interview.0 -

Hi Charlotte!
havent come across an HEO role - tell me more! However I did express an interest at my AO interview for the EO role as i'd felt I'd covered the competencies well during my interview and i was asked if I would like to treat the interview for both roles. of course i jumped at the chance only to find out later that as I'd not completed an EO application i would not be considered. Hapy though to get an AO role0 -

I rang the HR team in April in Newcastle who advised on a couple of occasions that 105 people who had received the 'success at interview' letter would definitely be posted as they had over 100 posts to fill for this particular vacancy, which was very positive news. They advised it was simply a case of waiting for the checks (CRB, medical) and then admin etc etc, where each Jobcentre would confirm numbers of candidates and dates for starting etc, and then they would be in touch, but they were hoping for start dates fairly quickly and stated it wouldn't be a case of months and months. Since then I have had the good news that I will be posted at the end of the month, although it would appear that it is not mass recruitment, more as & when. One thing I would add is that the HR team in Newcastle seem to be overwhelmed with their workload, as even now, I have not yet received any paperwork to confirm the posting.
Hey reebok-bolton and samesamebutdifferent,
I think we may have been at the same interview!! I have also been successful for an EO post based in the South of Tyne and Wear. samesamebutdifferent - how did you find out that you will be getting a start date for the end of the month? I was first told that I am 2nd on the list and a week later I was told I'm 25th, so I'm not sure what's the deal with that! What position were you? I've just been applying for other jobs, as much as I'd like this job, if I was offered another job with a guaranteed start date I'd take that. I have received my CRB back, DWP have received a copy too so it's just a waiting game as they await start dates! My recruitment officer couldn't tell me anything else like how long it may be etc.0 -
Hi there!
It could be possible that you moved down the waiting list as there were some candidates who scored slightly higher than you but not high enough to warrant receiving the " you have been successful and we will offer you a position subject to the relevant checks being completed ". Shahzadi did your letter refer to a wait list ?0
