I didn`t recognize the number, so rang it anyway from my landline. It was a recorded message telling me that I had been called by the DWP Pension Service. The number was an 0800 number. Any thoughts from DWP employees? Could it be about the interviews? I thought that was done by letter, or could it be just coincidence? Pension Service has thrown me though.
Yes I have called them before, had them ring me back and missed it. On replying it was a message saying something like "you were called by the Pension Service, we will ring back later".The World come on.....0 -
I have had another job offer today for a Full-Time position in a national Tile Shop.
They havent secured the premises yet so although I have the job I have to wait for confirmation of a start date, he advised me that he hopes this would me in 2 - 3 weeks.
So now I am waiting on 2 jobs, obviously I would prefer the DWP job but how would I stand if a week into the Tile Shop position I was offered a start date with the DWP?
Oh for your information, I am currently going through pre-recruitment checks with the DWP, I forwarded them my CRB and it was recieved by them today.
You should really give the required notice to the Tile Shop, but if you needed to start with the DWP before your notice was up you could just leave. You are not going to need a reference from the Tile Shop, so you've nothing to lose by burning your boats there. This kind of thing happens all the time. You could try and negotiate a later start date with the DWP, but bear in mind you will have been scheduled for training etc. which could muck things up for you and them.Numpties...I'm surrounded by them...save me...:whistle:0 -

I’m in the same position I have started work a temporary job today it’s only for 5 months. I rang Newcastle to try and find out when I might be starting before I accepted the other job and they said hopefully end of June beginning of July they couldn’t be more specific. I really didn’t want to miss an opportunity to earn some money. I’ve been on JSA since being made redundant in February. I applied for Nottinghamshire had my interview on 25th April0 -
Hello - is anyone out there waiting for a start date for the Wiltshire area, specifically Swindon, Chippenham, Salisbury and Trowbridge?0

I've recieved an invite to attend an interview for a benefit delivery officer, does anyone know if the questions will be similar to that of the AO position?0

Hi,
has anyone applied for an AO position in London? I did my interview in Feb and two weeks ago I found out that my checks were completed. I dont understand why they are taking forever to offer me a start date...
Yup! But my interview was on the 25th of April.
Gosh you waited around 2 months hey, did you ring them up to find out if the checks were done?
I think they contact your personal references after the CRB checks?0 -
It's 2 months today since I was tested and interviewed for the EO Barnstaple and Bideford posts - is anyone else still waiting? I think this thread has been really reassuring by letting people know it is the system that is slow and nothing to do with their own personal circumstances. Fingers crossed for you all :-)Downshifted

Hi Aoki
In april I recieved my crb back (in a brown envelope) and then I found out that they contacted my referee the following day. After that I called them twice and the second time (in May) they confirmed that all the checks were completed and they said that everything is now left to Jobcentre to give me a start date. What part of London did you apply to?0 -

I applied to Central district? How about you?
Didnt they just send your CRB to Newcastle? We were given an address to put down to which the disclosure would be sent.
I think all you can do is wait right. Did they give you a choice of which job centre you'd prefer to work in?0 -
I applied to the East London area. The CRB that I recieved was a copy sent by Newcastle- I know this because the envelope was brown and had the DWP address on it. I also know this because I put down the Newcastle address under the 'current address' section. At the interview I wasnt given a sheet asking me where I want to work but the interviewer asked me if I wanted to work in my local area and I said yes. On my application form I also put down my preference which was specific.
It looks like the London start dates are taking longer...0
