Does anybody know what is the most northerly office within the West midlands DWP area. I applied to the West Midlands but live in Liverpool - I am willing to travel to work. I phoned newcastle and they said once my checks are complete someone would phone to discuss offices - So i was wondering if anyone knew which offices might be offered and if any are within travelling distance from Liverpool! Birmingham is an 1hr30mins on the train which i will do at a push! - I applied to the northwest both liverpool and manchester but never heard back!

I don't know the answer to that I'm afraid - coz that end of the process is dealt with by Newcastle & I'm at the pointy end of things!

    Perhaps Sigrid (?) could advise.

Hi Molly, I understand having spoken to Newcastle that the pre recruitment checks are completed via the HM Inland Revenue to confirm where you worked and when, this has certainly been the case in my application and no contact has been made with my previous employer. My original offer letter stated a start date would be offered once the pre recruitment checks have been completed. These were completed very quickly once they had rec'd a copy of my CRB and I now have my start date - see previous posts

    Hope this helps!

    Hi,
has anyone applied for an AO position in London? I did my interview in Feb and two weeks ago I found out that my checks were completed. I dont understand why they are taking forever to offer me a start date...

I have had another job offer today for a Full-Time position in a national Tile Shop.

They havent secured the premises yet so although I have the job I have to wait for confirmation of a start date, he advised me that he hopes this would me in 2 - 3 weeks.

So now I am waiting on 2 jobs, obviously I would prefer the DWP job but how would I stand if a week into the Tile Shop position I was offered a start date with the DWP?

Oh for your information, I am currently going through pre-recruitment checks with the DWP, I forwarded them my CRB and it was recieved by them today.

it said ythat results would be out in two weeks time and we were to give the location preference even though that does not signify that anyone actually passed the process.

however i was a bit worried i had not even ad that email.

so will be biting nails for net two weeks now for result.

Ah right, we marked our preference on a sheet at the interview

I think I can see the ice beginning to crack. I rang up today to see what was happening and they said they were waiting for my CRB, I said I had sent it in and had it returned so I have sent it in again recorded delivery and have another one that I can fax to them tomorrow anyway (I went for two posts) When my checks come back I should be OK to go in mid June :)

Hi - I had a couple of interviews recently. I was out all day today without my mobile (charging ). When I got home, I noticed there was 1 missed call. I didn`t recognize the number, so rang it anyway from my landline. It was a recorded message telling me that I had been called by the DWP Pension Service. The number was an 0800 number. Any thoughts from DWP employees? Could it be about the interviews? I thought that was done by letter, or could it be just coincidence? Pension Service has thrown me though.
