It certainly will be short at the sharp end as all parties cuts bite, and AA to EO grade staff are shed like confetti; most likely won't affect higher grades imho. You are one smug individual aren't you "Job For Life Apolonation" are you related to the Anihilator perchance?

I don't think they'll be dropping jobs like confetti - tbh I think the fixed term and casuals will go not sure how many that will be? I'm sorry if my erudition annoys you, and that you can not find any fault in anything I've said, so you would attempt to label me in such a way. As I have stated previously I do not work in the Jobcentre, if you would care to read the thread instead of construct fantasies to your own ends you might have gathered that ;)

You are right that most who go will be fixed term contractees, and retirees most likely will not be replaced, but the real problem is the money wasted on all this now redundant recruitment exercise, and, the lowering of morale impinging on "customer service". I have read the threads and know you don't work in JCP. I also feel however that it is time for people to move on, and don't bank on a job from these exercises. The only thing is that some of the posters here are feeling a bit down, and dejected by their lack of information from the excercise, and the overall tone of your posts can send someone more into despair, rather than helping them maintain a positive attitude. That is my last word on this subject so all the best to those on here, and I hope everyone finds something suitable soon.

    :eek::eek: Really?

Well that wasn't intended :-) I just said I thought people should move on, perhaps I was a little short with the person that addressed the Secretary of State as dear Mrs, and then went on to complain to her. That was because I was tired of people moaning in this thread, and also feeling for people like the Secretary of State that work very hard every day, I just think certain MPs actually do a good job and it annoys me when those that do are not given any respect.Aside from that I don't think I've been negative to anyone? If I have I apologise! It certainly wasn't intentional!

I hope everyone finds a good job. I believe things tend to happen for a reason and as I've already said in this thread I'm sure those that didn't get through will find decent jobs and look back on this, in time to come, thanking the fact they didn't get the job in the first place.

Yes, I do think you were rather short with that person, as do many others on this forum. If you are sick and tired of hearing us all moaning in this thread, then I suggest you spend your time perusing other threads that carry more interest. Alternatively have you thought of applying to the labour party for a job? Maybe you could put your intelligence, patronisation and sarcasm to some use and get some first hand experience in life. BTW, please refrain from going in with boot and then offer someone a hand to get up afterwards, it's extremely impolite and not appreciated on this thread, whether you apologise as an after event or not.

This is quite an incorrect implication to make. JCP have been instructed by DWP to radically cut the costs of employment and, as such, to drastically reduce the headcount - this is a very considerable number of people who will be out of work, the horrible irony being that they will be claiming JSA. The only persons left in JCP will be permanent staff.

With the increase in JSA claimants and JCP attendees over the forthcoming months it is inevitable that the issue of understaffing is to be increasingly problematic, as has been mentioned by others previously.

    :)

WHAT? Did you even read what you wrote? 'this is an incorrect implication to make' ... 'the only persons left in JCP will be permanent staff'.

I said "tbh I think the fixed term and casuals will go" - ipso facto they will only have permanent staff left.

Not sure which part of that you did not understand?

    Your post made no sense.

  • Do not feed the trolls
  • I wouldn't say smug exactly, I'm just always right.

thats your opinion....not the one that the rest of us have.....but you are arrogant and insensative

if you dont work in the JCP, what do you do that qualifies you to even comment in this thread?.............and no, i cant be bothered to wade my way thro all of the thread if you have posted it

The language you use is imprecise, and it warranted clarification.

"I don't think they'll be dropping jobs like confetti - tbh I think the fixed term and casuals will go not sure how many that will be?"

The implication from your post is that there will not be many jobs lost - in fact, jobs will be "dropped like confetti" as all of the contract and temporary staff are going to go by June. How many will that be? All of them - nationwide. As a guide, in the West Midlands region alone JCP have recruited an additional 1,100 temporary & contract staff over the past 8 months who are now working within JCP and have extended opening hours to deal with the increase in job seekers - all of these people, on top of the already present contract & temporary staff, will be gone by June of this year and adding to the JSA queues.

There is a fundamental difference between the assumption of knowledge and the actual holding of it. It is always best, if you do not know something, not to guess or assume - people on forums such as this rely on the sharing of knowledge & facts for help & advice, they do not need hyperbole.

    Thanks for understanding.

    Oh my word

There is a PLAN to finsh the FTA jobs this year, but thats all it is, a plan. I think most Jobcentres would struggle with just permanent staff, in fact not just struggle, they would completely collapse. So there may be some revision of the plan

So while the knowledge you are holding is correct is doesn't necessarily mean that is what will happen. After all you can't tell me what will happen for sure in the next five minutes, you can have a educated guess but you don't know that is what will actually happen.
