  • Just did my test for the positions advertised for Birmingham .... I had no idea that there was a waiting list that could take me months to get the job, even if the test has decided that I am indeed not a muppet. No point crossing my fingers as they will go numb and leave me with some sort of arthritic injury ....... ooohh maybe i can claim for that instead of job seekser???:A

No win no fee would be out of it.. no breach of a duty of care by anyone, except to yourself by yourself ergo, excessive crossing of fingers leading to injury, HSE could prosecute you for self inflicted injury. That puts you on the ESA treadmill, and the ATOS medical trial. Seriously, hope you hear something soon, and keep looking as we all do.:rotfl:

    Hi juicyjackieb

I too have just submitted my online test for IRC 65238 EO Birmingham. Good luck to both of us, I have been unemployed now since July 2009 and I am desperate to get back to work. Please keep in touch and let me know how you get on.

I'm already on a waiting list for IRC62504. However, I received the automated e-mail from DWP Newcastle Jan 2010, stating that I would stay on the waiting list until June 2010 and that there were currently no jobs available within JC+. I'm gutted, especially as my successful letter Oct 2009 said I would be on a waiting list for 12 months.

I have since called DWP Newcastle to get some more info and I was told by a lady that she couldn't tell me anything as my file had been archived and to e-mail the Employee Shared Services Manager for more information. - So I'm on an active waiting list, yet my file has been archived - I rest my case.

I have since put in a complaint to the DWP Employee Shared Services Manager, I have since received an e-mail 15/2/10 saying:

Thank you for your letter dated 13th February 2010
The Customer Service Team will investigate the complaint you raised and provide you with a full response. We will contact you again within 7 working days with either a full reply, or to tell you about the action we are taking.
Throughout Employee Shared Services we do value customer feedback on our services and I would like to thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.
In the meantime if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

    To be continued................

What a great job the Government have done I for one am very proud to have them running the country. It was our present Government that secured the £5bn to inject into the Jobcentres, heavily opposed by the Conservatives.

I second the above post by the way about whinging and moaning being pointless.

What else can you expect from this lot? They are out of touch with reality, the recession is biting and DWP is woefully under staffed to cope with the workload.

    Woefully understaffed? Really?

It depends upon where in the country you reside as to how staffed/understaffed your JCP is.

With the JCP losing most contract and temp staff by June of this year, then they most certainly will be understaffed across the board by then at least.

It certainly will be short at the sharp end as all parties cuts bite, and AA to EO grade staff are shed like confetti; most likely won't affect higher grades imho. You are one smug individual aren't you "Job For Life Apolonation" are you related to the Anihilator perchance?

Just been told by a mate that Kelvin MacKenzie in the Sun today has written that 16,000 are to go in JCP just as the dole queue is lengthening, according to an email he had while Yvette Cooper was rambling on the other day. Never mind back to the job pages and keep looking.

I wouldn't say smug exactly, I'm just always right. Anihilator's my idol.
