SO annoyed with this whole process, and ive actually been patient, because i knew what to expect from reading everyone elses posts.
Ive been waiting since november from when i got the success letter and checks cleared to get a call while other people on here have been placed.
I phoned today after waiting a month and was told all i can do is wait and that's all the guy was willing to tell me as he said it was now down to the JCP, but was not liable to give me a number to find out more info?? its RIDICULOUS.

I know - my success letter was beg.Oct with no mention of waiting list at all. Only told by phone I am on the merit list. I am still hoping the 'will contact u in Jan' statement applies but somehow not feeling that confident.............:lipsrseal

Think yourself lucky, I have been waiting since May!!!!
  • i know, ive heard many a story on here about how long people have had to wait and i think its disgraceful as its like they are stringing people along on such an important subject as having a job! i dont know how they get away with this.
and the merit list on my IRC has made no difference as i know of people who were lower down on the list then me and have already been placed.
  • Good luck to everyone waiting to be posted. Had my interview beginning of October and started in my local JCP as an EO on Monday. Up to now all going well, athough the bad weather has been very disruptive and seems a bit odd as nothing is running quite as "normal"! Contract is until the end of November so hope everything works out well. It seems that there have been a lot of new appointments over the last 18 months or so but I get the feeling that things have slowed down, but that may be just the beginning of January and crazy weather feeling. I will keep watching the forum but even that seems to have been a bit quieter because of the xmas break.

I sent them an email today rgarding IRC 60811 (Shrops, etc) and got the usual spiel. Just a shame that nobody is telling us ANYTHING.

    Thank you for your email

With regards to recent Jobcentre Plus recruitment, I should explain that it was initially anticipated that Jobcentre Plus would be in a position to offer posts to all candidates successfully completing pre recruitment checks for these selection exercises. However the advertised Recruitment opportunities within Jobcentre plus have generated extraordinary levels of interest and applications. Whilst recruitment activity has not ceased, the significant number of successful applications for these posts, as well as the size and complexity of locations and positions available, has necessitated a full review of Jobcentre Plus's staffing position and has resulted in delays in contacting candidates to offer start dates.

I should explain that although Employee Services Resourcing administer selection activity on behalf of Jobcentre Plus, any offer of employment will be made by the local business area and I am therefore unable advise as to the likelihood of your receiving a start date for any particular exercise.

I appreciate that this is a difficult time for anyone awaiting a start date, and would like to thank you for your patience. Once again I regret that I am unable to provide more specific timescales and can only reiterate that should Jobcentre Plus be in a position to offer you a position, you will be contacted immediately.

In the meantime should you wish to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact me.

    :)
  • At the risk of sounding like a broken record, have any other applicants for this IRC heard anything from the DWP yet?
HSBC Credit Card £608.69, HSBC Overdraft: £4123.67, HSBC Loan: £8,270.69
Lloyds Credit Card: £1418.62, Very Account: £518.99, Barclaycard: £126
Total Debt as of 9th June 2020: £15066.66
  • They're just going to tell us to !!!! off.

Hi jamie - doesn't even sound like we r going to get the promised January communication now - i.e. should they be able to offer a position, they will be in touch I think means forget it!!!
Would much prefer it if they would just be HONEST and tell us yes or no - this waffle just makes it worse. I am expecting not to hear anything now, but am so reluctant to just give up on this............

I may email my MP about DWP's total ineptitude over the whole situation - not for what I will achieve in doing this - but just to make me feel better
How about we all email our MP's (http://www.writetothem.com)
