Have you emailed Louise Perry? Her email address should be on the bottom of that one.

I'm really frustrated too. We would all understand if we were kept up to date with what is going on and actually given any information at all, instead of being fobbed off all of the time.

My major annoyance (amongst many) is being told I was successful and that they are conducting checks and then just receiving a CRB form in the post with no other information given by them at all with regards to what happens next. I've had to do all the chasing but even then, any result of information has been fruitless.

I'm so glad to have found this forum and thread as I knew what to expect from DWP with their total inefficiency amongst other things. Think of all the poor people who haven't read all the experiences of other people in this forum and were gladly sitting there thinking they had a guaranteed job, as how many other places tell you that you passed the interview but then don't contact you again.

Not holding out for any information this month to be honest. How many other people have been told that DWP were in a recruiting position until Dec and if they don't hear then, they would hear in January? Just interested. Has anyone emailed Louise Perry?
I have emailed Louise Perry a couple of times. The answers are the same that others have recieved and posted on here. You get no more news than from other people.

I have had a month off from this thread as didnt want to be depressed over xmas. however i return having emailed Newcastle and a Local JCP.

Hope noone who is out of work was relying on this job offer - thankfully i still have my current (rubbish) job to keep me going

Had this email from a local JCP Recruitment person - Not Good News At All

Dear Mr XXXXXXX
Unfortunately all recruitment has ceased at the moment. This is primarily because the numbers of jobseekers has started to drop and if we take on any more staff we risk overstaffing.
Your name is still on the waiting list but realistically a posting is unlikely to become a reality.

• Oh Dear Bufty that is not good news at all that is the most negative response I think anyone has had. I am without a job and have been relying on my EO coming off. This looks really grim now

In utter frustration today I sent a really strong email to Emp Res. explaining that I was fed up with their total ineffficiency and unprofessionalism. Got an immediate response back:

Thank you for your email dated 11th January 2010.

I am very sorry that you are disappointed with the level of service you have experienced during the recruitment process. As explained in our response of 8th December 2009, whilst Employee Services Resourcing administers selection activity on behalf of Jobcentre Plus, any offer of employment is made by the local business area and will be dependant upon individual business needs. Unfortunately at this time I can only advise that Jobcentre Plus have assured us that they will be contacting all candidates who remain on merit lists in January 2010 to advise what action they are taking.

I should explain that it was initially anticipated that Jobcentre Plus would be in a position to offer posts to all candidates successfully completing pre recruitment checks for these selection exercises. However the advertised Recruitment opportunities within Jobcentre plus have generated extraordinary levels of interest and applications. Whilst recruitment activity has not ceased, the significant number of successful applications for these posts, as well as the size and complexity of locations and positions available, has necessitated a full review of Jobcentre Plus's staffing position and has resulted in delays in contacting candidates to offer start dates.

I appreciate that this is a difficult situation and would like to thank you for your patience. Once again I regret that I am unable to provide more specific timescales and can only reiterate that Jobcentre Plus will be in contact later in the month.

I got exactly the same email word for word. The ironic thing was I was complaining about being given 'copy and paste' answers to my queries, with staff seemingly not willing to look futher than the standardised reply, it seems even their superiors follow the same line. I am about to have an afternoon playing google detective to see if I can find a local email contact as Newcastle refuse to give me one.

JCP will be a political football, and a target by ALL politicos for the much trumpeted cuts in public spending and cull of the public sector, so even if unemployment continues to rise We will be the first victims. I think they will let the waiting and merit lists expire quietly, and post only if someone jacks in and has to be replaced imho. Sorry to seem negative but I have been waiting since October also.

Hi there

My son was also receiving the same response as above.

He did actually work for the DWP on an internal basis for under a year that was including an extended contract, then back a few months back my son and a few others had to go.

He applied for a few ever since within the DWP, and was told "Congratulations he had passed and placed on a waiting list", this happened a few times.
So of course he continued to apply for other jobs elsewhere and whatever comes up first then go for it.;)

Anyway, today he had some good news, he attended an interview and got the job, he is to start next week as a Mentor Support Adviser, where he will visit jobcentres to help others back into work.

I am so happy for him.:T:T
This is not actually DWP related.

Thought I would share my good news.
The one and only "Dizzy Di" :D
• Congratulations to you both di - im glad it has worked out:beer:
• Re the query "who else has had the same letter"

ME! several times.. word for word.. from different people..

I have written to my money grabbing MP.. raising my concerns about the general process rather than my individual case as I think that perhaps carries more weight. I also stressed that I would not accept the ministers blanket response already sent via another MP to someone on this list..

Oh, and for good measure, try the conservative and Libdem Shadows for Work and pensions.. they probably arent your MP, but if you have a labour MP, they will love getting on the badwagon and poking a sharp stick or two..to get you a response..

;o))

email louise.perry@dwp.gsi.gov.uk or stephanie.marshall1@dwp.gsi.gov.uk they work for Employee Shared Services
I have emailed the first one, several times and have always been forwarded to "Stephanie" - so I doubt whether either of them actually exist - and the recipient is probably just a clever "answer machine" - programmed to send out a standard response ...

Come on DWP - Prove me wrong

Someone in "Employee Shared Services" must read this ?

Hi Jacki

Where were you on the merit list and for what position and area? - looks bad news for us all - its a damn disgrace the amount of "our" money that the DWP have spent on thousands of worthless interviews:mad:
