I was one of the earlier posters who got through and I just hope it works out for those that are waiting. That website is a central hub of jobs right across the civil service and well worth frequently checking.
Good luck
above is a great website and also

civil servants for mod (although not sure how many posts there are likely to be withthe recent publicity on mod spending)

Congratulations Whiskyman. Hope everything goes well for you.0

Well done Whiskyman, at least things are moving still, somewhere. I had my successful letter at beginning of August and still waiting, why do they put through so many for the checks if they are not going to employ them all, very frustrating.
I believe we should all take this further at the DWP - manager or government representative. I could have been using my time with further training or volunteering if I hadn't have been conned with a success letter. How can they treat people like this at an employment centre?0 -
Well done Whiskeyman. Don't like to be the bearer of bad news but I work at DWP as an AO, waiting for promotion to EO (on list since May) and found out today that no external people will be brought in to fill in any vacancies. All recruitment is frozen. Any vacancies which come up will be filled by internal candidates and any FTA workers won't have contracts extended or made permanent. Looks like anyone on a list may have even less chance.0

fresian_cow is that just in your department? or policy across whole DWP??0

I know, it was on the weekly report thing that came out today. I work in a CC and all the FT people finishing soon have been told they're finished already. It said that to avoid going above headcount they would be using internal staff to fill posts instead of any external recruitment and were looking for people to move to jobcentres instead of recruiting new people. I hope you're contract gets extended and it ends up being temporary. I would really like to move to the EO job!0

Ahhh I'm in the Jobcentre now, I must have been having a rare lucky day then, as I found out this week that I was one of only 3 out of 300 that have actually been offered a contract from my IRC and also received an email yest asking if I was interested in applying for a perm position as a Gatekeeper (I don't actually think I'd enjoy that role so not going to bother), but still hopefully something else will come up soon.
Good luck with getting your EO post soon, I really hope for all the other people on this thread that it is just a temporary blip too, the goalposts seem to change a lot so perhaps with the next gust of wind they will change direction again!!0 -
which was your IRC spaceytracey9??0
