Well I have just had a call regarding a position at the Pension Centre in Burnley.
    I start on Monday.:beer::j:T:j
Training is from then until the end of March. At least one part of the DWP is still taking people on. I am on 8 merit lists for JCP which go as far back as September. The interview for this one was on a Sunday in December.

I am looking forward to being back at work.:j:T:j:beer:

  • Either way - we were all told that we would hear in January one way or another and we still haven't.

A fortnight to go - who's betting on them telling us F all??

Going on their track record of keeping us updated with ANY news at all on our applications, likelihood is very unlikely to not at all!

They are probably preparing their next template email to send fobbing off us off for another few months.;)

Received an email from them - doesn't look too promising ...

    Dear

Re your application with Jobcentre Plus for – IRC62***

We are currently updating our records and wanted to inform you that you are now on our waiting list for the above exercise.

Unfortunately, as a result of a review of Jobcentre Plus’s staffing requirement, we are not in a position to offer you a job at this time. I appreciate that this may come as a disappointment to you. However the waiting list does not expire until 30/06/2010 and we will be in touch during this time if an opportunity arises. If you have not heard from us by this date then unfortunately we will not be able to offer you a post.

If of course your circumstances have changed so that you no longer wish to be considered for this post I would be grateful if you could notify me by email at
    JCP.LettersMeritList@dwp.gsi.gov.uk

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in working for Jobcentre Plus.

Please note you may receive a similar letter if you have applied for other Jobcentre Plus vacancies

    Yours sincerely

  • This must be the standard template we are all going to receive.

Don't they make you feel so special??

    They certainly do
I am contacting my MP to inform him about the total waste of public funds that this "exercise" must have cost the country
I doubt whether it will achieve anything - but it may make me feel better....
  • Did you receive the email randomly or had you sent an email to this person before hand? How long have you been waiting? - I really think they need to stop telling people they have a job when there aren't any.

I have been waiting over 4 months and no - I had not been in contact with this person before - I have emailed RESOURCING.CUSTOMERSERVICES@DWP.GSI.GOV.UK which is the "general" email that everyone uses....
The fact that DWP has kept so many people (any idea how many ?) on hold for so long - needs official investigation ...
Whatever any of you do - DO NOT email that link on my original - it will remove ALL your chances (present and future)
