  • • A ban on any further external recruitment (apart from people who have already been offered a job)

How do they define 'already offered a job', or are they as vague with current staff as they are with potential staff?!

I totally despair with the way the DWP treat those who apply for jobs. Its both disgusting and immoral.

They treat their 'clients' in exactly the same way, it's called 'help' which is a word I never thought I'd find sinister but I do now... I applied for a job with them too but I was soooo relieved when it was not offered.

I've worked somewhere else for several months now.

  • Further to my posting on this site regarding my total frustration with the DWP since applying IRC62404, I was amazed and aghast when I read the document posted by MISS RAY on page 405 of this forum- (sorry but Im unable to post links)

I URGE YOU ALL TO LOOK AT THIS IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY!!!!

At no time during my various telephone calls to the DWP have they given me any information? Why oh why werent we all written to weeks ago telling us about this??????????

I went for interview for IRC62404 in Sept and thought i had finally cracked it when i was told i had passed in Oct. Doent seem that way 4 months later. Still looking for a job and getting more and more frustrated. Not getting any Jobseekers now as they say i have used my contributions. Wish someone would just tell me what it what. Then i can move on.
  • Well, I went for one IRC just before Christmas, and know another forum poster went to the same one and got a job and is already there.. As the correspondence we recieved was slightyl different it suggested to us that one was successful, the other "on the list" pending future offers..

But I got a follow up call about referees the other day, and this morning my Disclosure Scotland Cert arrived in post. Then this afternoon I got an "URGENT" email asking me to let them know if/when I got the certificate, and to fax or email a copy as soon as possible !

based on DWP resurcings usual laid back handling, I would say I am being "hassled and chased" LOL it's a unique and interesting situation while it lasts !
  • for those of you new to this, I wrote out the basics of the application process, and posted it in another thread.. here: hope that helps!
  • IMPORTANT UPDATE for IRC 60811 (Hrd, Worcs, Shrops)

Today I spoke to the head of recruitment for the Marches region. I had a frank 10 minute phonecall with her in which she admitted there was nowhere near the amount of jobs to match the successful people. Recruitment has now stopped and we are all to be put on a waiting list. In all probability only a handful more people will now get placed. She was quite apologetic and I restrained myself from having a rant as I knew it wasn't entirely her fault. This should all get said in a letter that they are preparing to send out any day now. I was originally 40th on the merit list and it doesn't look good for me as only 20 people have been placed. If you were 20-30th placed then there might be a chance from what I can gather.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

This is looking good for you. I am sure that you will progress as I know they are desperate for people. Also if they are chasing you then that is a good sign.
    Best of Luck

....I am a little behind u, in the late 40's so pretty sure I am going to get this letter too It really is so disappointing but guess I had already resigned myself to this not coming off. Hv been applying for lots of other jobs so will just have to wait for one of those to come good. This should never have happened this way though. How can so many people get this so so wrong.

I agree - I'm totally broken hearted about it all.

It's bad enough going to interviews and then getting no feedback at all afterwards, not getting any feedback from applications - but to get success letters only to have them whipped away is a harsh thing to take for anyone, no matter how som want to play semantics.

Deeply upsetting. Difficult to kep smiling now, isn't it?

    :)

I so agree Jamie - I have never ever had an experience like this b4. It has definitely put me off applying to DWP ever again - if they are this disorganised, imagine what they would be like to work for.....maybe we have just had a lucky escape......here's to all of us having a better time next time, but somewhere else. _pale_
