• Were you on the waiting list originally or the merit list?
• Thanks Twinkle, disappointing but we need to all be aware whats going on.

Forgive my ignorance but can someone explain to me why it said in the paper yesterday that 250 new adults PER DAY had to join the dole queue last month; yet seemingly they are over subscribed for our Jobs ???????

It doesnt add up?

They certainly do
I am contacting my MP to inform him about the total waste of public funds that this "exercise" must have cost the country
I doubt whether it will achieve anything - but it may make me feel better....

If you check this and the other DWP thread, someone did contact their MP about it.. and through them got a standard bland response from the Minister for Work and pensions..

If contacting your MP, I suggest you do as I did, copy the Minsiters response, and say "I want a proper response not this evasive statement which answers nothing.." I would also send to Theresa May if she is not your own MP, as she is shadow minister for W&P.. you might get a slightly better response if they know other folk are watching..

Exactly! I just read that the area I had applied for is one of the most affected and the numbers claiming JSA are rising by the day.

I wonder whether they will even bother to inform us about the information Twinkle received in the email unless we contact them ourselves (as always). It's a joke!
• Well first day at the Pension Centre over with. Just induction and form filling today which will continue for the rest of this week.
They were looking to start 12 in this group but there are only four of us. Two who have transferred from JCPs and two who are new. The reason given for this is that we are the only two whose pre-recruitment checks have been completed. The interviews were held just before Christmas and I had a success letter dated 19th Dec. However my CRB was only received by Disclosure Scotland on 24th Dec. My Certificate was dated 4th Jan (I have had previous checks). Call last Thirsday 17:20 to start today.
They are desperate for staff and are looking to promote some AAs internally.
• Received letter in August saying that I was succesful and that I would be contacted after pre-recruitment checks which I know were ok I also received my Scottish Disclosure through.. any ideas who I can contact as the number on top of the letter sent to me keeps ringing out

Thanks

If you look on page 403 of this thread, I put some numbers on a post. Each number probably deals with a different region but you should get through to someone who will transfer you if they can't help.
Otherwise, email RESOURCING.CUSTOMERSERVICES@DWP.GSI.GOV.UK but be warned, you will more than likely get a generic email back. Good luck!

I too applied back in August ref IRC62404 - passed interview, passed CRB check, passed medical telephone check, references checked ok, and am still waiting to hear if I will be offered a position. They told me in late September that there was a freeze on recruitment that would be lifted in November. I heard nothing - phoned them again and thet told me I would hear one way or the other by early January at the very latest. Phoned again today to be told that a letter "should" be sent to me within the next month or so.

I have today sent a strongly worded letter to my MP and to the shadow minister for work & pensions informing them of these problems and also to check this forum to see for themselves the problems we are all having. When you consider how many people have applied for these so called jobs, and the various agencies that have been involved with all the recruitment checks and interviews, the total cost must run into hundreds of thousands if not millions of taxpayers money - and for what?

At a time of economic financial disarray, this is nothing short of a scandal.
