All casual/temporary staff in JC+ are being paid off by 22/01/10.

And word is that recently recruited fixed term staff won't be getting their contracts renewed.

PCS has something on their website about it, bulletin issued yesterday.

If you read this the cuts are in BFD (Benefit & Fraud Directorate) and CCD (Contact Centre Directorate) it actually says that CSD to which Job Cenres belong are still under staffed

They'll pay off the fixed termers all over and use the transfer list to plug the gaps in an attempt to keep the headcount down. If that doesn't work they'll offer detached duty terms and seek volunteers from BFD/CCD to go to local Job Centres.

The very last thing they'll do is extend contracts or make fixed termers permanent whilst running voluntary redundancy schemes in Benefit Delivery Centres etc.

Hi spaceytracey - I had a change of mind and phoned them back within an hour as after making the decision it didn't feel right! Felt a bit daft so didn't update my status. Was told the position was personal adv. but had call yesterday saying the role was in fact a compliance officer so was very different from what I was expecting – which has left me a bit shell shocked!! Due to start on 4th Jan.
  • Hi everyone sorry if im repeating stuff - i presume so with all the pages of postings but I have only just found this forum - just wondered if anyone had any updates on EO 61153 or generally - success letter 2 nov 2009, office preference sheet 19 nov 2009 ( i ticked them all ), nothing since....

Ive got through once to Newcastle and been told im 40 ish on merit list.

Does anyone think this will happen?

Ive been unemployed since redundancy early this year but then thought i had got this but think in jan I need to go all out to get something else as there doesnt seem much positive going on ??

    I am married with two young ( expensive!)dudes !

    Thanks for any feedback

    Hi Frankie

All I can tell you is that they have advertised and interviewed for more AOs and EOs for all areas of Greater Manchester since then. I Know this as I am on merit lists for these as well as 61153.
The only info from Newcastle is that they are recuiting throughout December and that they will contact the rest in January.
I am sorry that I can not help further but info from them is very scarce. I guess that we will just have to wait and see.
